Here's a few pictures of my Death Guard Land Raider that I 'painted' with weathering powders.
The only actual paint is the green bits on the lights & cabling & the metallics.

The rest was done with layers & layers of weathering powders over a primer / basecoat of red oxide from Halfords.

I mostly used MIG but also have the FW Black Soot & I mixed up my own light green powder from some artists chalk powders.
I also used a bit of green, brown & purple ink on a few areas.

Hope you like! (C&C always welcome).

BTW I didn't use macro on my camera for these shots.
Instead I set up my camera about 1m away & used the zoom function.
This allowed me to take out the parallax errors I was getting with all my earlier pictures.
It also made it possible to get more of the model in focus.

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

Wow, I really like the way that looks. Perfectly Nurgly.

Nothing currently, got out of the hobby, maybe getting back in?

Looks very good, but my only critique would be that it lacks a certain depth that I feel Weathering powders are able to give to a model thats been fully painted....If it was intentional it looks awesome but for me personally I would do major underpainting.

Another fun technique to try is using distilled water, Plaster, and Rubbing Alcohol( not at the same time haha) with the pigments, can create really awesome effect and add another layer of detail to your model....

Cheers Sworth.
I've got some plaster so may give that a go.
I assume that it gives the pigments more body / bulk?

What do the other 2 do?

Awesome. So much more subtle than the usual green-stuffed abortions.

That is the dirtiest Nurgle vehicle I have ever seen... so great job! The weathering technique you are using is working out very nicely.

My first reaction was "Holy overkill!!" but the more I looked at it, the more I liked the look. Gonna suggest this to a death guard player I know. Awsome work.

Looks really good Bubber. I love the look that weathering powders can give to a model and this is a really impressive and different take on a Nurglised vehicle.

I've seen plaster used to create really bulked up mud. A mix of plaster, powders and some coarse sand is created then placed on with an old brush. I'd be interested to know what the distilled water and rubbing alcohol do too.

Can I suggest skipping forward 10 years to the age where you don't really care about what people say on the internet. Studies show that it decreases your anger about life in general by 37%. - Flashman

It does give an interesting effect. I think my only problem with it is the tracks look a little too corroded to actually use. They are kind of lost in the rest of the model. Is it possible to differentiate them a little bit more?

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

I can't help but focus in on the aquilas on the tracks. Lazy GW Chaos kits...

Wonderfully over the top Nurgly goodness though.

Do you have pictures of the tank before the paintjob?

Sorry, no.
All it was was a standard imperial raider with the FW Death Guard doors.
I then used my dremmel to put some holes & dents on it.
This was followed by gluing on some sand (which I don't think was fine enough). This was then sealed in place with a coat of watered-down PVA.

As mentioned I used Halfords red oxide primer as a base coat.

Also I just found this - http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_154620_langId_-1_categoryId_165495
It turns a spray can into an air gun. At £1 I'm gonna pick up a couple for sure!
