Greenstuff could work out expensive. I find that for simple gap filling and sanding off I prefer something like Revell Plasto.

Depends on the size of the gaps. Greenstuff always works, but there are also more fluid putties I believe Squadron and Tamiya each make one) that require less cleanup or the "melt some sprue shavings using plastic cement and brush in the gap, then file flush" technique (there's a tutorial somewhere on dakka, IIRC). Both work just fine, as well, but only for small gaps. If you already have greenstuff, though, don't go out and buy something else, unless you happen to feel particularly experimental.

Plastic cement. Superglue is nasty messy stuff. If you're using metal and resin then it's a must, but if you're entirely using plastic it's best to use the glue designed specifically for that purpose. Get something with an applicator though, Revell Contacta has a thin metal tube from which to apply the glue, it's vrey good.

For gap filling, you might want to look into squadron putty.
