99.9% complete the first of my 3 Big Trakks. (0.01% is going back and re blending the mud weathering on one side). This ones armed with a Lobba. I've added a few extra bits like the barb wire and additional Grot crew. It was first painted and then weathered up using MIG weathering powders.

I've used some new techniquies with the powders, the rust on the trakks is 3 different powder colours, as is the mud / sand. I'm really pleased with how the rust turned out, not too sure on the sand as I used a different technique. I'm pleased with the heat sheilding discolouration on the exausts, I used the Tamiya Weathering Master B set for the burt orange and burnt blue. I'll be re painting all my exausts I've done so far using this set from Tamiya.

And special thinks to Forgeworld. I've assembled dozens of your kits, but this one by far is the worst kit to assemble ever, almost impossible to assemble without searching through web forums to see who else has done it! Other than that, a rather nice model.

Questions comments welcome.

Dayum ! This is very well done Thesecretsquig, loving the weathering on the tracks and you've picked out the details nicely.

Good job, definitely want to see those other 2 when they are done.

Hands down, the best weathering on tracks I have seen.

I agree that the track weathering is fantastic... for something that's been sitting stone still for a few years. Orks can make damn near anything work, so a rusted POS ("pile of scrap," of course ) looks good and orky, but I think a bit of scraped-bare metal on the tracks where there's metal-on-metal contact would better convey a sense of "barely holding together, but still chugging away." Even without that, it's still a fantastic model.

I've worked around real tracked vehicles and those tracks of yours are spot on. If I didn't know any better I'd say they were real.

Here's a WIP shot of the tracks being rusted using the MIG Powders. I'll do a step by step on my next one to show people how its done. It ain't difficult, but it is time consuming waiting for the layers to dry, and you need the right stuff.

Thats honestly what I was thinking too. Ive NEVER seen weather look that realistic. Infact my son and I play on a retired sherman down the road and its tracks look very similar to how those are rusted lol.

Definitely want to see the how too on that. Only problem is, I might just redue a bunch of tracks in my army

Thats so great! I like the way the tracks look like the mud is dry in some places and a bit wet in others.

I'll do a step by step guide on how to do the weathering. Its really not that difficult, you just need to invest in the correct materials to do it.
