Basically how is it done with the regular shoulder pads? Pics, links or tutorials would be great thanks.

well basicly you just place it behind the head bit on the model and try to get it to fit as best as you can. your still gonna have the shoulder pad with the small curved section facing up as if it was on the shoulder of a marine...and its obvious that the hollow section on the inside of the shoulder pad is where the librarian head is gonna be. but just play around with a shoulder pad and see how it works for you.

You generally make four cuts into the shoulder pauldron and are left with the base curve (bottom of the pauldron) and a strip going up that follows the other curve.

I've done it several times for my plastic GK conversions. It does take some practice, but once you nail it, it's child's play (not that I'm suggesting children be left with razor sharp blades - that would be bad - besides, I've seen child's play.)

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Basically you carve out a shoulder pad so it looks like you have a high collar and an overhang on top of the head.
Add a few cables with blobs at the end and you are good.
See my converted terminator to Librarian and an actual Librarian model:
Hope this helps.

Note: Neither is complete, this is not an example of my full painting....
