O.K., as the tittle says, I need help with my forthcoming CSM warband. for me an army without any good fluff hasn't got any soul. I first wanted to play Skyrar's dark wolves(from codex CSM) but after reading the info in the codex, I found it too space wolf-ish. I would like to keep the name Skyrar for my lord because I think it's catchy. I was thinking of letting them be close combat specialists. All the squads will either have a flamer or a melta gun. also I need a good shoulder pad design. The wolf head from the dark wolves isn't viable anymore, because they aren't dark wolves anymore. I still think the colour scheme is good, so I am going to paint them that way. for the name I thought Sons OF Anarchy" was good.

oke so now the founding.

The sons of anarchy (possible name) are a war band including Astartes from mixed chapters. The are feared because of their brutal close combat prowess. The love to see their enemies dying a slowly death while they torture their prisoners onboard their space vessel, A strike cruiser named "The Dark Claw" or simply "The Claw". They are Pirates currently taking refuge in the Eye of Terror. Originally they were the 5th company of "The emperor's Wardens" They turned traitor 457 years ago, After the Caligian Purging. The Now renamed Sons Of Anarchy were angry at the Imperium Because the felt betrayed.The Ordo Hereticus held a Chase after them. Chasing The Claw with an Imperial battleship and 2 imperial cruisers. The claw was badly damaged after initial firefights. Between the claws and the opposing ships. The Ordo Hereticus launched a boarding action upon the claw, and now things were starting to get grim for the Sons Of Anarchy. after Initial boarding the Sons lost most of their company. Skyrar rallied his remaining forces at the bridge and together with Skyrar they launched a counter attack against the imperial Guard under command of Inquisitor Karyan Tyco. Skyrar killed Tyco in single combat and the Imperial guard were broken by the sight of their dead leader. The invaders now driven off the Claw headed for the Eye of Terror. The remaining Sons numbered only 137 men after those 457 years. Now, more and more Traitor Astartes flock to Skyrar's banner. Most of the Sons's vehicles were lost after the boarding of the claw as a result of sabotage. the only ground vehicles they have are a few rhino's and 2 land raiders.

When the Sons Of Anarchy go to battle, most of the battle brothers go to war by teleporting upon the targeted planet. a sizable contingent is formed of raptors.

The Sons Of Anarchy still maintain their traditions of Gene seed and Old traditions within the company.


so what do you think? The name is just temporary, It's too long for my liking. For a new name I would like our help. I would also like your help for a suitable warband shoulder marking.

Hmm.. out of a company of roughly 100 marines, only 137 survived?
Maybe you should change it to say that two or three companies turned rogue.. more fun that way.

Also, I think there's already a CSM warband with that name. And also there is a TV show about bikers called that..

Also, with the CC speciality thing, I think you should run CSM squads (with flamer/melta) with MoK's. But the MoK's could just be counts-as, or you could actually use them and say they embraced Khorne. IMO, I think you should do the counts-as-equiped-with idea.

whoops, I never played space marines before. Oke so 3 companies of the Emperor's Wardens turned traitor. I always thought a company numbered around 250 marines.

I knew their was a tv show on about the sons of anarchy, the name was good for a while I thought. I ned help with a new name then (I suck at coming up with names. It's a good idea giving them mark of khorne.

Reavers
Rogue Wardens
Slaughterors of Skyrar
Butchers of Caligian
Reapers
Mutilaters


Tbh, you can just mix and match those words to your liking. But the name should be 2-3 words long max.

Reavers is good for a CC orientated army.

Not bad man, I agree with the whole Fluff gives an army Soul thing.
Why did the Ordo Hereticus condemn the Sons of Anarchy? Were they correct in their charges? I think it would be cool to expand the fluff in regards to the relationship that the traitor companies have with the rest of the Emperors Wardens who are still loyal to the imperium. I'm excited to see what you come up with!

Come to think of it, I don't want a blood/slaughter crazed warband. For the normal guys I think I wont give them any marks (except the odd chaos glory). I will add khorne bezerkers, but I wont use the models provided by gw. I'll use normal guys, but will make them more "khorny", if you know what I mean.

Or, if you've got the cash to spare, kitbash Khorne berzerkers and csm boxsets, with a 1:2 ratio or something.

Edit: still get three squads, just Khorne bitbashed ones.

I haven't got the cash to spare lol. I just spent my last bit of money on cd's . Now I need to save up on pocket-money first. (I get that, only being 15)

with "I have no cash to spare" I mean I am broke. Like "1.55 Euro" broke. With that amount of money I can't even pay stuff from ebay.
