I just picked up "Deadpool vs. SHIELD", "Deadpool vs. Carnage" and "complete Deadpool Vol. 4" yesterday.

Still want/need to pick up "Deadpool: What Happens in Vegas"

I gotta say though, the ending to DP v. Carnage was a little weird, like cliffhanger with no sequel weird.

My partner has recently started to get into comics. I over heard her talking about deadpool to someone the other day, seems like you have experience on the matter, whats a great deapool comic to buy?

Depends on how "in" to comics they are... I almost never buy things by the episode (as in Thor #702, or whatever), but rather I get the trade paperbacks, so that an entire story arc is in one volume. That said, I personally have absolutely LOVED the "Deadpool: The complete Series Vol. X" (I have 2 and 4) by Daniel Way. I've already read through Vol. 2 and I thought it was great so it may be a good place to start (but probably with Vol. 1.... I started getting these based on cover, not even reading the spine to see there was an "order" to them ).

I also quite enjoyed "Deadpool vs. The Marvel Universe". I personally think this one is quite hilarious, simply because he's trying to join the X-Men, and things go in a typical Deadpool way (which is to say, completely sideways)

Daniel Way Deadpool is good. Joe Kelly Deadpool is better.

Give Deadpool Classics Vol. 2 a shot when you have the time.

I knew you would.

Next topic: I want to read something with Thanos or Ultron in it. Got any reccomendations? I thought Age of Ultron was rather boring and we rarely got to see the title character. I read Infinity Gauntlet once as well, but it was bit too... well, old, for my tastes. Is The Thanos Imperative any good? It has Rocket in it and is written by Dan Abnett.

I read Thanos Imperative but then I binge read all of Abnett's cosmic stuff so for me it was just the conclusion of all of that. I liked it but it kinda only works if you read everything else including Nova.

So, did anyone else think that the ending of Original Sin was kinda... Underwhelming? #7 was absolutely amazing, and I don't know whether it's because it came after an amazing issue, but #8 just seemed anticlimactic.

Read the first trade of the new Nova series. It was nice, though IMO Bendis is better at writing teenager superheroes.

So, honest question guys: I really like Dan Abnett, I really like the Guardians and I want to read more Marvel cosmic stuff. But 60 Euro is a lot of money for a comic book. Is it really that good? And does is have all I need?

It's pretty good but only because it then kicks off the non teenage Nova series (Richard Rider) also written by Dan Abnett. Which then concludes with Thanos Imperative. So it may open up a can of cosmic comic buying works for you. I really liked Abnett's Nova run so I I would recommend it but I like everything that comes after Anihilation is better than Anihilation itself.

So this isn't even everything there is so read? I was kinda hoping I could just get this volume and be done with it.

Man, it's hard to get into another part of the Marvel universe.

It's self contained but it's also the launching point of everything cosmic. Seems like you've ready read GOTG but there's also Anihilation Conquest which is where the GOTG were formed and Nova and so on. You can always get it and stop reading

Get the Deadpool classics trade paper back. The new stuff is not quite the same, and I don't think it's as good. The new writers just don't capture the personality. Cable&Deadpool is really good too.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I'm still working on it, about half way through. I always think I'm not going to get then Marvel Mega event but then I always do for some reason and then I'm disappointed. Main thing about original Sin is I don't see why this has to be a mega event involving every character in the Marvel U. Watcher getting killed is bad but I don't see why you need like a hundred heroes from every team tackling that.

Just read #8 a few nights ago and now I can say...

...I agree!

Another Marvel Universe Mega-Crossover that ended with a whimper.

So what exactly is Peter Quinn?

We know

Spoiler:
He's only half human, but whats the other half? I have to admit I think his dad is pretty powerful considering he could hold the infinity stone in the movie for an extended period of time without asploding.

I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.

On Star-Lord:

Spoiler:
James Gunn confirmed that when/if they do come to it in the MCU, Peter's father won't be the person he is in 616. A popular fan-theory is, that is father in the movies will be Adam Warlock, who has been hinted at already.

For some reason my comic book guy gave me a free copy of Detective Comics #27 which had the original Batman take in it. It was interesting and reminded me that Batman is a detective at heart. Anyone reading the Batman titles? What's better Batman or Detective comics? Looking for one that's more down to earth with sleuthing and lack of Robins.

Kamikaze: I've been hugely enjoying the Batman: Zero Year run. (Yet another revamp of Bat's origins, tho it doesn't suffer for that. IMO, it benefits from not having an accumulation of vaguely bat-themed characters running around...) The thing is I'm not sure if it'd satisfy your yen for sleuthing (I think it could), and the release rate seems to be patchy because I can go months without seeing the next issue.

It's the only DC title I follow, but given my growing dissatisfaction with superhero comics in general (they're increasingly giving me the same vibe as 40K, if that makes sense) that's not so much of a slight on DC.

Which leads me on to a bit of a moan. I'm in a tiny minority of comic readers in that I like the Red Hulk. I promised to keep buying the titles he appeared in until Marvel decided to do an inevitable status-quo retcon/depowering on him, and Jeff Parker's run starting with the 'Scorched Earth' arc made that easy to keep. Now with recent events in the Green Hulk's title, looks like that retcon's just around the corner. Though at this point it's kind of a mercy, given the terrible writing and treatment in Thunderbolts lately. When it comes, I think it's gonna mark the end of my regular comics purchases, scaling back to the occasional volume of BPRD, Usagi Yojimbo, or Asterix...

I'm sooo, sooo sorry.

Just started back up with Marvel after a long hiatus by picking up All New X-Men. Super impressed. I love it. Also, read through the graphic novel Mad in Batman: the Dark Knight. Another disturbing read, the Mad Hatter is really up there with with the Joker on "twisted villain" level. Joker at least knows he's psychotic. Tetch...he's something else.
