I started making a piece of terrain. I guess it could be some kind of ruin house or building. Inside I have a couple dead orks and some IG equipment. I just primed it black and will show you more pictures as I start painting. I used foam board for the walls, then on the tops where the foam is showing i covered it with cardstock. Then glued the broken support beams and they were made out of coffee sticks. The ground is made from sand. The bitz I have in it are a dead ork, a head from an ork and legs from an ork, and IG rocket launcher I think and some other bits and pieces.

Looking good, though I would place some more rubble inside the ruined building

I like the crater and dead ork
But as mentioned before I think some more rubble would improve it
also maybe make the reaining walls abit more uneven.
Regardless its nice to see people scratch building terrain. Esecially ruins.

Hmm... it looks like a house that was partially ripped off its foundation, it looks good.
the wood floor dosn't look like it is sturdy enough, you may want to try renforcing it with some support beams.

You should probably add some of that too, maybe you could put the ork partially burried in the rubble, now that would look cool!

Actually the wood floor is really sturdy. I actually built it with support beams, like a few layers. Sure why not put more rubble I'll just prime and glue it in since I already primed the terrain.

Here are some pictures. My camera sucks so the pics of the ork are really blurry, the ork looks a lot better in person. Also any ideas for what kind of rubble to put in.

Best way to do rubble is to get some plastic sprue and clip it into half a cm long blocks with clippers longer pieces can create beams etc.....

The interior is too clean, I would suggest to add bricks and rubble made from sprue pieces on one of the corners and around the crater.
Other than that good job.

As you went for the whole piece I suggest painting them metal and a wash with gryphone sepia for a rusted tone. Other option is to cut the sprues in little half a centimeter pieces, pile them together and then use a gray to paint them, codex gray it“s my favourite.

Thanks, I think I'll go with the rusty look. The only problem is that I don't have a local gaming store and the GW closest to me is pretty far so I don't go very often, so for now I don't have the Glyphonne Sepia. The parts will just have to be silver for now.

The only thing I would change is the broken wall top. It looks to fake, I'd just snap it with my hands to make it more realistic. Or don't, it looks fine anyways.

Sorry, I meant to say wall CORNER. The bit with all the jagged concrete-y stuff, it just looks a little fake. I love everything else though, especially the ork legs and blood splatter

Don“t overworry about just using gryphone sepia, any chestnut or reddish ink will give you the same tone, you can use Tamiya weathering powders if you have a closer model shop.
For melta effects, carefully heat the sprue with a flame before bending and then drybrush black.

Well instead i just used badab black then dry brushed orange on it and it looks fine. Automatically Appended Next Post: Well its sorta hard to do that cause the foam board is pretty tough and I needed to cover the edges with card stock so the foam inside it doesn't melt from the primer. If I did break it with my hands there would be foam inside and it would look worse.
