Hey guys. Just joined after lurking for years. I finally got a camera that can take any sort of decent pictures of miniatures.

So my younger brother opted out of the hobby, and granted me all of his miniatures. In this lot was about 1500 points of Chaos Space Marines, a thousand point Daemonhunter army, and a couple units of Eldar. I was very excited about getting the Chaos marines, so I started immediately. I don't have many painted mini's, but I've got two that are just about finished. Obviously they're nothing fantastic, but I think they're decent table-top quality miniatures.

Let me know what you think. I'll snap a shot of everything that I have later.

Thanks guys.

Looks really promising from what I can see.

Would be MUCH better though if they weren't so dark.

Look forward to seeing many more, much brighter pics =)

Hah, yeah, that picture was taken late in the day, in a darkish room, so I apologize for that.

The camera died, so I don't have lighter pictures of those two yet, but I have a couple pictures of some units I'm working on. I won a painting competition the other week with a Daemonhunter Grey Knight Terminator I painted up for our local GW's "Ghoul Stars" Campaign, and I won a box of Chaos Warriors with it. I decided to use these guys and add a unit of "Bikers" and Chaos Raptors to my new army, and this is what I came up with.

Btw, if anybody has any suggestions for a name to my army, I'd be open to them. I don't have the fluff quite worked out, since this is gonna tie into my next army, a DIY Space Marine chapter. But I know that the Warlord for this army is going to be based on Kongol from the video game "Legend of Dragoon". My brother was calling them The Swords of Vengeance, but I don't think that's quite "barbaric" enough for the way I want this army to be.

Thanks.

Liking the look of those "bikers". Nice thinking there.

Are they chaos knights or marauder horsemen mounts?

They look good from what i can tell, nice biker models, i love that idea, maybe you could make them a little more converted/posessed to tie in with the chaos theme or just give them glowing coal red eyes! oh yeah that's cool..... coal red eyes.....glowing

Thanks guys! I'm a fan of how they turned out so far, sadly, though, they haven't performed terribly well. Hah. I'm just a poor player is it is. Anyways, I haven't made much progress yet with the models. But I did model up and paint my Tzeentch Sorcerer, who I'm extremely proud of. When I get use of my camera again, I'll snap a shot of him and get better shots of the first two guys I had up.

Thanks for the comments! I'm working on some fluff, I'll post it here when I'm done. This army is going to have a barbarian theme throughout (hopefully), being led by a Khorne Terminator Lord and a Tzeentch Sorcerer, based on the characters of Kongol and Lloyd from the PS1 game Legend of Dragoon. Any modeling advice and tips for making the army more Barbarian would be awesome.

Edit: I felt bad about not having any photos to add, so instead I added some photo's from my trip to the LA Battle Bunker this weekend with a friend. We had a 2500 point game between my Tau and his Space Marines. Hope they're decent enough!

Sorry for the double post.

Here's some updated pictures from about last week. There's a shot of my sorcerer Lloyd. I know the paint is a little think around his feet, but that's because of the basecoat that my brother did several years ago. It's not so bad in real life, but still there if you look for it...

But yeah. Only three are finished right now. The biker and Khorne Berzerker Skull Champion are there to see where I'm heading with them.

On a lighter note I love the models, can't wait to see more painted up.

Nothing currently, got out of the hobby, maybe getting back in?

Thanks for the kind words, guys.

So I have a small update, nothing terribly substantial. I received a Chaos Terminator Lord for my birthday about a month ago, and I was planning on entering him into a competition at the FLGS. Turns out, the competition is for models on Dreadnought-sized bases, not Terminator-sized bases. Ah well. Either way, i spent a pretty nice amount of time making this model my best painted to date. I'm extremely happy with him.

Anways, his name is Kongol, Barbarian king of the Swords of Vengeance. He's not completely done yet, I've yet to finish his cape, but for the most part he's just about there. C&C welcome, though it'll probably only be applied to future models. I'm not terribly happy with the lightning effects on axe, but no matter what I did, I couldn't make them any better...

I like the lightning on the ax head, look in the p&m tut section for a powerweapon lightning tutorial if you want to get some more work on it.

Nothing currently, got out of the hobby, maybe getting back in?

Thes are great. For the axe, paint it ultra marine blue, then make the lightning enchanted blue, then ice blue, then a little white
