First time posting anything on here, but several of the post on here gave me the idea to make the following models. Just figured I would post these to see if anyone had any opinons on them. If i could do anything better or different. I'm about as new at conversions as they come.

It looks a little bit too crazy.
Try a portable heavy bolter, like a space marine one. I've done that conversion and it worked well.

One tip I could give is try and figure out a way to make him angling the bolter up. Perhaps cutting the hand off and filing it at an angle so it's more across his chest? And maybe use a heavy bolter from a Devastator kit. I think they might be a tiny bit smaller.
And use a Catachan Jungle fighter, rather than a Cadian.
Otherwise it's all coming together rather nicely. :}

The Heavy Bolter is just too big. I'm sorry but it just looks a bit of a joke at this point. Also, you may want to find a different Plasma Pistol arm than one from the Marine kit, otherwise the Captain just has one Space Marine arm.

Ok, tried shortening the heavy bolter. As for as using a catachan model, I wanted to use a cadian since that's what my army is made of. The vet squad is called the "Devil Dogs" led by the Gunny. Oh, the captain with the plasma pistol was supposed to be a bionic arm. Been playing a on going campaign with my friend and he plays tyranids so been adding models that have bionics. But i guess the space marine arm does stand out too much.

it looks better but still too big. do you know any chaos players? the chaos marine sprues come with an almost never used heavy bolter that is made to be carried in the way your model is. you may want to try using that bit instead as it's still a heavy bolter but smaller.

Though I think the heavy bolter is a little too big still, it looks much better and isn't much of a stretch for a character that us supposed to be extra cool and has a bionic arm. That fancy arm should help with the extra weight. Might I suggest an ammo feed backpack to help with balance?

I've been looking at the actual Harker model and they look about the same size to me. Yeah have him the bionic arm to represent the str it would take to wield that weapon. Since I'm not a fan of catachan models. Was sorta imspired by this story R. Lee Ermey told on lock and load about a solider in WW2 picking up a M1917 heavy machine gun and fired it from the hip into a Japanese charge. But I do agree about the backpack, just didn't have anything on hand that would look good. I'll take any suggests on what would look good.

For a smaller and neater Heavy Bolter go check out the door guns from the Valkyrie kit. Thats what I've used for my infantry SAWs.

Ok, tried to added a ammo feed from the backpack, utter fail, i suck with greenstuff. So went with power cables to run the gun and the "suspensor" attachment. Where catachan use brute muscle we use holy technology. Fire away guys.
