Right, two models with two different wolf pelts. Same drybrushing technique with the same colours on both, but one is on a black base coat the other on a white. Which do you think is best? Just for the record these models are no where near finished yet, need going over a second time before washing and highlighting.

Back in the day, we were epic Space Vikings with horns, and beer, and stupid mockney accents, and we didn't have any truck with this flying around like a pansy shizzle. We certainly didn't surround ourselves with mangy animals.

Now we're basically the Bestiality Chapter.

We also now ride chariots and employ daemonic dreadnoughts...also, we fly and teleport with abandon. With wolves.

The one on the left, the one of the right reminds me of my bed matress.

I think the one on the left looks better but it really depends on the rest of the model in my opinion though. The right model doesn't look right to me for some reason though, I think it might be the model but it doesn't look as clean to me.

Nothing currently, got out of the hobby, maybe getting back in?

I thought the left too. To be fair that model has had a bit more work to date - the Ragnar is really not anywhere near finished. However the wolf pelt is what I'm interested in and I've used the same technique just a different base.

Cheers for confirming my thoughts gents .

If you wanted a gradeated colour to them try useing a dark brown wash on the centre and a lighter one around the edge ..

I've tried it again and again, in all honesty I just end up ruining the pelt entirely. I have a motor disease which makes my hands very shaky - I do my best but I can only do so much! I'm fairly happy with the darky brown matt look although I know most people prefer the dark running into white look.

*Gasp* Disease! Plague Marine! Heretic!

Kidding, bro! I have the Shakes as well, but that's because I don't want to screw up the Miniature, so that's probably my fault. Your Painting still trumps mine!

I vote Left!

Left But............ if you put a sepia/mid brown wash (or something similar) on the right one, i think it would have more depth.
