Hey everybody this is my first real post to dakka and i'd like to kick it off with something cool!
This beast is WIP at the moment as i still need to find an adequate material to use for tubing...any suggestions are welcomed!
I started this army a few months back and minus the plague reaper it has grown to be roughly 2000 pts, it includes 3 squads of PMs tow of which are
forgeworld. one of the squads has magnetized special weapons along with a magnetized havoc squad (not yet started!), i'll post pics of these guys soon.
The Hq is Typhus attached to four termies mounted in a land raider redeemer which i call a corrupter. all the infantry have rhinos and one of them is magnetized to become
a predator that can weapon swap between full lascannons and heavy bolters with an autocannon.

Hi

Your work on the baneblade looks good - very cool!

In regards to the tubing, regular things are:

* styrene tubes (from hobby store) bent with heat into place
* cables from computer mice etc
* guitar string (bass) - gives a good ribbed feel

One other thing - make sure you rotate the picture before posting - much easier for people to see what is going on.

There are 10 types of people in the world - those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Seconded on the Toga opinion! however i must say that come senior year i shall be donning one
Back to the point! thanks a ton for the compliments, and i've got a question, do you happen to know an easy way to swap out heavy metal bits?
the chaos havocs box comes with really nice metal weapons, but i don't think my little 1/16 X 1/32 magnets can handle it...

Just a thought, maybe you should do the power cables and plasma coil in some other colour then green? Just to get some more diversity in the colour scheme.
Models look awesome! Keep up the good work

Edit: Looking at em ones more, I noticed you don't have much green apart from the power stuff, so green might be the best choice after all....I don't know, just something to think about I guess

Thank you everyone one for looking and posting such nice replies! i really appreciate it
@Limbo after reading your post i looked over my troops and came to same conclusion...that scorpion green can only go so far.
the eyes are snot green (which i'm pretty sure you can't see) and everything else power related is scorpion green, i think it looks alot
better in person because they have all benn lightly drybrushed with a pale color making them all moldly looking, and the green really stands out.
@azekio, the pics suck because the best camera i have is my phone...however i may be able to acquire my father's camera in the coming weeks!
Now for MOAR pics! first off the predator in all it's magnetized glory!

Apologies for the clone updates! When submitting it dakka seemed to lock up so i tried again...apparently it worked fine
that tank was a real labour of love, and it bore the brunt of fury for several days due to the inadequateness of those blasted magnets...

Today i plan to begin work on the havoc squad! I've got a missile launcher bit, and a few conversion ideas to make the other four.
1). The rocket launcher bit from the chaos tank spure? it's got six tubes and is bulky but i think with so good GSing it'll look good.
2). A hunter killer missile attached to the rail, this is mounted on the hand bit from space marine tanks that is intended for pintle mounts.

if anyone knows of another conversion i can use let me know!

Disgusting! (in a positive way )
Really like what you've got here. Neat conversions on your models. Though it saddens me to see another Plaguereaper, I think you're doing a good job. There's nothing wrong with the Plaguereaper, but it's just that every Baneblade in a Nurgle army is a converted Plaguereaper.
But still - good work! Keep it up!

Try to use the macro setting when taking photos of models, and put the model on a white background. 2 sheets of paper - one by the wall and one on the floor - is a good start! It really matters. It's easier to focus on the model and the details. Sometimes the background can be annoying or disturbing. But there's nothing wrong with people in cream coloured tank tops.

Peace, mate.

@azekio i was thinking of doing jsut that actually, but in a more nurgley way of course

My idea was to build the weapon into the stomach of the marine, which is the most nurgely part!

i could then swap out a missile for an ammo feed or something to represent the different weapons.

@Damian if felt a little sorrow when taking such a beautiful machine and nurgleizing it, but i chose to make it into a PR because it fits into the strategy of my army,
a swift moving and hardhitting close-ranged force. now although a PR is not exactly swift, it is a wonderfully effective fire sponge and its great when it blows up!

Great work so far, especially on the Plaguereaper and all the other tanks. One thing that helps make Nurgle stuff look a lot better is to make the Greenstuff look as though it's part of the armor. What I mean is that, for the best results, you shouldn't be able to see a seam where the GS ends and the plastic begins. Try using some vaseline on the sculpting tools, and rubbing the edges until they're so thin that you can't see the seam.

Thanks for the input Tempus, that land raider was my first go at using greenstuff, and the plague reaper is my second, so i'm not exactly pro at using the junk yet.

I will definitely try out the method you mentioned, and i can se how it would really help ease the process of apply greenstuff, especialy to tanks with all their pesky flat surfaces!
