Helloooo

I recently acquired the new demon prince and thought that I would have a go at sculpting for the first time.
I was hoping that you guys could give me some suggestions on how to make him a bit more nurgley.

Cheers!

Prince with trophy rack.

Yeah, that looks sufficiently creepy and nurgle. Nice job.

Nurgelings would look cool climbing on it or around it.

Cool daemon prince! Are the wings magnetized?

You're not playing the game like I play it...why aren't you playing the game like I play it?! O_O

Thats a really good Nurgle Deamon Prince and I to think you should put some kind of small Nurgle figures around it or on it.

Make the armour older looking, add cuts, pockmarks, glue on some sand etc. Some exposed muscle fibres or bone is always a nice touch, but a bit ambitious. The wings are also a little lacking, so far. They're about the same size as the model itself, so they take up a lot of attention. Get the metal Carrion model from the tomb kings line, and take its wings. Or, since the existing ones are plastic, just cut them up, add rot, just make it disgusting,

Nurgle sometimes have only one horn, one has fallen off or got broken off.
Another detail that you can add, is a "rot cannon" (for nurgles rot), a tube coming from his hand that is attacted the to belly, spine or someother place. Look at the FW demon prince, or mine in my gallery for suggestions.

Looks like a good start, but I'd try to eliminate as many large, smooth areas as you can. Add little bits of detail. Clumps of fungus, rotting bits and tattered flesh, the usual tri-boils that Nurgle can't go anywhere without. Not only does it add a lot of visual interest to the model, it also makes it a lot easier to paint. The work you did on his shoulderpad is an excellent example.

If you're looking for some good inspiration and ideas on how exactly to go about all the bits of detail that can really bring this guy to life, Svartmetall over on the RelicNews forums wrote an excellent article (or more appropriately, a series of articles) on sculping nurgle. You can find it here. It's a really excellent resource, and as you'll see, has some incredible results.

Hey all thanks for the tips, i have done some extra work with the green stuff and i am going to start painting him soon.
I feel that i could do more work on him but i think i will save that for when the new model is released because i don't want to lose most of the detail from the original model.

@Blitza: I have not magnetized the wings, instead i have just pinned them and they sit in the socket fairly ok without any glue.

I think that a Nurgle symbol on the intestines would be nice.
Great sculpting anyway!
