Some of you will have seem my captain (Banner, power axe, plasma pistol) no? well take a looki: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/307683.page

anyway I mentioned in one of my posts that I converted the 5 survivors (fluff) to be his sternguard retinue and I figured it would be rude not to show them.

I really need to repaint the new models (the reason I only have 4 metal models is because the captain was one of them)
185p on the tabletop

here they are, Hope you like them
for "the recruit" those of you who read the fluff I made will know what that means.
any comments on how I can make them better? please tell!

Are you painting on rop of the paint? If its the first layer youv are painting on thats ok but if it any layer more i would strip the model and restart!

I apologise to anyone who interacted with me around 2009-2012.

Are you even basecoating these guys? Whenever I see a model that says "almost done painting" and parts of it are bare plastic, I have to wonder. Given some of the chipping paints on some models, I think I may be right in this assumption.

If I am correct (apologies if I'm not and you already know this) you really need to prime your mininatures before you paint them. Paint sticks to primer better than it does to bare metal, and if you're priming with black (as most people do) any parts of the model you miss will merely look like shadow. Also, you should really strip your models before you paint them. Paint on top of paint; as indiana1000 said, is no good.

How exactly are you painting these models? What paints are you using to do what? It looks to me like you really need some help painting, and I'd be happy to give any advice to get your figures to start looking better.

I am going to bascoat them,
I never finished painting them crimson fist and lost them, to my anoying cousin. I found them again, one was a bit bashed up (which is now my cap) and the rest I'm just temp painting until I get some coat (I cant stand having a multi chapter army on the table)

The bare plastic bits I've just added on. I really did want standered metal sternguard and when I get spray they'll be painted
