Hey guys its been extremely long since I've been on and i have unfinished projects but I'm going for a fresh start with GIMP (free corel painter like thing) I am currently doing a word bearers (or blood angels) piece and is just need some constructive tips since this is second picture I've painted on this program ever.

hey i got carried away with the program i forgot to post so hears some progress (if anyone's seeing these ) What should i do for things like the gene pack's vents, should i replace the severed hand with something and should i make more necron like things

I'd say make the shoulderpads a bit higher.

What are you drawing him with? I don't mean program but hardwear (mouse, pad, ect.)

Cool but the helmet size seems too small.

Le Baron i'm atually only using a mouse on a fairly old computer i just play with setting and smudge alot, the helmet is the only thing i'm not changing to much because it wa in these themes i had as a kid (kinda hard to explain but its just a certain bulky yet skinny feel that i like)

OK its about 3 and I'm going to bed but here's the last pic for today, just did my comfortable limits of the head and leg/genepack stuff

Kay guys no suggestions yet so I'll start asking, what should I do for the: backround(e.g city?), gene pack valves, replace severed arm with, head, chest plate, and should i put any more wraiths?

What is he shooting? It looks as if he's mowing the front lawn with a bolt pistol.

But other than that, I'm loving it so far. I think that it would look better if his severed arm was hanging by his side instead of pointing forwards, or if you gave him a robo-arm with some kind of bladed weapon/chainsword, as well as some sort of chest emblem.

thanks dude, i was going crazy over that arm. BTW hes shooting at wraiths that are swimming in the foggy water-ish stuff.

here it is dudes (jeez I'm on a sugar high it's 5) I need to do more bindings on the new arm piece to tie it in better but tell me what you think

MAN that looks awesome. I especially love the chest piece. I think the background looks fine as it is, maybe you could add the outline of a wraith on fire or being shot at, maybe just looming over a marine, maybe backlit by an explosion or fire. Also, if you make the gunshot from the pistol a bit less symmetrical/uniform, it would seem more realistic, IMO.
I know how hard it is to get feedback, man
