Hey everyone.

This Blogs is mainly for me to get feed back on how to improve or what to change on the armies I'm gonna work on.
As you may have noticed from the title of the Blog the 3 armies I'm gonna be working on are Orks, SM and CSM.
I've noticed since I have gotten back into the hobby after painting the same colors over and over again I lose my
interest a little. So I figure if I work on multiple projects I should be ok.

Here is a pic of an Ork Nob. This is also the colors I'm using for my Ork army. I know everyone uses black and red.
But it looks good with green what can I say.

Any feed back would be wonderful. I've seen some beautiful work and amazing ideas in other forms. Dakka Dakka is gonna be a great place I think to improve on my modeling and painting

Got a 5 man squad of SM assembled and primed. I figure if I switch back and forth between SM, CSM and Orks I might stay interested more.
Well lets hope for the best.

Do you have any fluff for The sons of Dorn? Guessing they where a Imperial Fist chapter before and are keeping the name just to spite thier loyalist brothers, kinda like the Emperors Children. Liking thier colour to, aslong as you're not planning to keep those black dots that the first model has

Woff, I'm a Cow!

Still working on the fluff. Need to research some 40k lore to make it tie in with the history. The black dots on the test model is battle damage. Black with boltgun metal highlights. But I plan on doing a army on the Sons of Dorn so there will be more to come. Same with the Kights of Guilliman.

I really like the Knights of Guilliman!Cant wait to see more! Not a big fan of the battle damage on the CSM. It might be the black on the yellow or it could just be me haha. But Id like to see more and some fluff.

Nice work on the marines schank. I'm guessing that the Sons of Dorn is a reference to the Dornian Heresy, in which case I'm quite interested in seeing how this blog develops. I have yet to see an army based on that work.

I look forward to seeing your work proceed

SqueakyCookie: thanks not sure if my squad I'm working on now will have the battle damage or not.

Accolade: Yes thats where I got the idea from. The Dornian Heresy is an awesome alternate reality and very well written.

Here is a link to those who want to check it out.

http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.php?showtopic=200543

I go the idea from The Dornian Heresy for the Son of Dorn but I would like to incorporate them into the 40k Universe.

This is the idea I'm kicking around now for fluff.

During the Battle of Medusa V a contingent of Imperial Fist where deployed to help bolster the defenses of Demios Spaceport. The Demois Spaceport was a vital strategic point for the Imperium. It aloud for supplies and reinforcements to be easily deployed. While in route to Medusa V their transport vessel was attacked by a small fleet of Dark Eldar. Hopelessly out numbered the Small band the Imperial Fists fought valiantly to the last brother..... Or so they thought. The Dark Eldar were not looking to kill the proud warriors but instead enslave them. Using Nero-toxin weapons the Dark Eldar captured over two score of Imperial Fist Battle Brothers. Each brother was stripped of his armor and strapped down or put in restraints. Over the next decade the brothers where experimented on and tortured. Their bodies designed to withstand punishment that would kill a normal man endured. The brought great pleasure to the Dark Eldar pushing them further to find new ways to torment their guests.
The brothers prayed to the Emperor for salvation or for there Brothers in Arms to rescue them from there captors but their prayers remained unanswered and rescue never came. Untill one day the Captain of the Brothers heard a voice call out to him while he was asleep or in a state unconsciousness he couldn't tell anymore telling him that the Emperor had forsaken them and their brothers thought them dead. Which was not all a lie for their brothers had thought they had parished in a warp storm. Or at least thats what the Imperial Reports stated. The Imperial Fists mourned their lost brothers for it was a dark day for the Imperial Fists. But little did the chapter know that they still lived and the Captain losing faith in his emperor and hope in his brothers now brooded on revenge to kill his captors his tormentors.
The Captain accepted the aid from his unknown benefactor and found his restraints a little less binding. During the next torture session he found the unholy strength break free of his bonds. In an uncontrollable state of rage the Captain tore his keepers limb from limb. Leaving a bloody path of destruction in his wake proceeded to free his fellow brothers from their chains. With each new brother freed the carnage they gave to their hosts increased untill every last of their tormentors had been obliterated. The brothers took control of the ship that they had called home for the last ten years and set a coarse back to Terra. Unbeknownst to them their benefactor has put a glamor on them and the ship. To everyone they came across they looked like Warriors of Chaos. Which ironically they where and had not fully realized what they has sacrificed for their freedom. On one fateful day they happened to come across the Battle Barge "The Fist of Dorn". Hailing their brothers with praise and of the events that lead them back into the arms of the Emperor asked for immediate evacuation and destruction of the forsaken vessel which they where on. The Fist of Dorn heard the hail from the vessel but did not see brothers in arms but instead the taint of chaos. The ships psykers confirmed what the Imperial Fist saw. For their lost brothers had been tainted by the powers of chaos but had not come to this realization yet. The Fist of Dorn opened fire on the Dark Eldar vessel. The brothers on the vessel could not believe what was happening. After all they been threw they finally found their way home and are welcomed back with laz fire and missile barges. The brothers where outrage by the betrayal and scrambled for survival from the oncoming onslaught. By chance of luck or by the powers of chaos they managed to open a web way and escape their fate. On that day the brothers realized they where alone. Cast aside by the Emperor and their chapter brothers. They forsook the Emperor that day and vowed vengeance on the Imperial Fists. The Captain choose them a new name. One that would always remind their former brothers of their mistake. The Sons of Dorn.

Please any feed back would be great. This is just a ruff draft of their history. I'm going to give the Captain a name later or if any of you have one in mind I'm willing to take suggestions.

I'll have some fluff on the Knights of Guilliman later on down the road.

So my 7 year old nephew came over today to hand out and play some Wii. Well after about 2 1/2 hours of Wii I needed to take a break and went to my computer room to prime some models. Well he followed me and saw my SM and CSM that I am working on. He said they looked pretty cool and wanted to help make one. He picked out a bunch of bits from my bits box and I explained the differance from SM CSM and Orks. Well before we could finish with our little project his mom called and it was time to meet for dinner. Well the little tike inspired me. I have a bunch of old CSM possessed bits and a lot of extra ork bits so why not a ork possessed nurgle squad for my CSM army. I know its been done in the past but untill now I have never put much thought into it. So here is my first attempt at a nurgle possessed ork.

I like the fluff. It gives them a good chaos feel that i like! All you need now is some names. Maybe as you go a long with it have some fighting with in the former Imperial Fists, say some of the older squads want to try too restore there honer and not as quick too turn to chaos as the others. We are talking about whats left of a company of Imperial Fists right?

I like the ork! The horn is looking good. He needs some more puss, boil things on his skin too look more nurgle.

Keep up the good work.

Denial

I have a deep seeded hate for your orange and blue space marines. But they are so fantastically done I will refrain from telling you how much I hate those colors.

Excellent work.

Smooth crisp colors and I enjoy the lightning sword work. Going to have to steal...rip off....borrow...yeah...

"Definition: 'Love' is making a shot to the knees of a target 120 kilometers away using an Aratech sniper rifle with a tri-light scope. Statement: This definition, I am told, is subject to interpretation. Obviously, love is a matter of odds. Not many meatbags could make such a shot, and fewer would derive love from it. Yet for me, love is knowing your target, putting them in your targeting reticle, and together, achieving a singular purpose, against statistically long odds." ~ HK-47

Outstanding work on the sword.

My only complaint is that they all seem a bit flat, mostly the orks. Perhaps another layer of fine highlighting?

Definitely some good stuff here!

@ Frenzied Potato: Well I'm sorry to here you hate the orange. Its my favorite color. And the Blue for its contrasting color. But steal what ever ideas you like. We all get them from somewhere. And I bet I got the idea from somewhere myself.

@Ramos Asura: Thanks. I didn't spend as much time on the AOBR orks as I did my first one posted. As you said they look flat. Highlights will do them wonders I think to.

To everyone who reads this any pointers will be a great help. Been reading the totorials and they have been a great help with trying to define my technique. And thanks for all your complaments.

I'll have a wip of my Term Sgt and Tac Sgt up tomorrow. They are about 50% done so far.

Alright here is a 90% finished Tac SGT. Still have some work left on him but its closer to being done.

Found some of my old models also. Its funny cause all I ever did back when I first started painting was drybrush everything.

Got a pic of and old Ultramarine squad for ya that I think I painted back in '02. When I was in the Army.

Thanks SqueakyCookie and Attomsk. Attomsk I've been folloing your Pyre CSM and I have to say your doing a damn fine job also.

The brighter colors are more fun to work with. All I have ever painted really is dark colors.

Well lets get to why most people check these things. Have some new pics. Another Son of Dorn and and Knight of Guilliman with a Missile Launcher.

Still have a little bit of work to do on the CSM and alot left on the SM. Sould have some finished pic up by the weekend.

Maybe you can do the skulls and guns in diffrent colours depending on what kind of CSM your painting?
exemple:
Normal red
Heavy green
Special Weapon Blue
I don't know, don't think I'm a big fan of the red =/ I like the fluff however

@Limbo: I think once I give the skulls a wash the might look better. But I'll do one with skulls the same color as the trim and see how it looks. It might even look better. Thanks for the comments.

Ok time for a small update. Finish the missile launcher marine and started work on the other 4 terms for the squad.

Alright so like have stated at the start of my blog thingamajigger. I get side tracked real easy. While in between my coats of orange on my termy squad I was reading up on gorkamorka rules I printed out awhile ago from the GW site. I was looking at the nob pictured first in my blog and decided to make him my mob leader. Now I just need to come up with some boyz for him to smack around. I pulled out my ork bitz and trust me I have alot to play with. I pieced together a boy which I think turned out really well. Not alot of hard convertling just a hand swap and some bit bashing. But enuff of all these letters randomly tossed around to form incoherant and poorly spelled words. Time for some pics........ And if your all really good some punch and pie.
