Hello all,

I'm new to Dakkadakka and thought I would introduce myself with a few of my 5th company Dark Angels and an Imperial guard cadian concept model I have recently been working on..
I've been painting GW figures for about 10 years, almost exclusively DA. the reason for the imperial guard is I recently got a bit bored of painting space marines and decided to adapt some of the fantastic cadian models to suit a more wintery feel..I am considering doing an army of these guys, what do you think?

Please feel free to add critique if you think something could be improved or if there is something you like, I can take it

Also I love the apothacary, you don't see enough blood on those guys.

Skiing guardsman, that is brilliant. I also like the missile launcher marine, he looks excellent.

Greetngs brother, I did the blood spatter by studying pictures of actual blood spatter on various types of cloth and then took those aspects and painted it on by hand with red ink, then gloss varnish

Deffo! They are always so pristine, I wanted mine to have been elbow deep in gene seed..

Since you were all so nice, Here is my company champion and standard, as of the time I took these the bearer is having (yet another) rebuild and painting so it's just the standard in an unfinished state in terms of mounting etc..just wanted to show off the hand painted banner

the skiing guardsmen is really cool and frankly quite original. i've been surfing/lurking the 40k websites since 1998 and haven't seen one. kudos!

Love the Lion banner- nice work on it! I think the robes need more shading tho. But basically, I like your work

I like the guardsman but I would prefer a diffirent kind of skiing style as it now looks slightly funny/odd (arms aren't right, looks like he is just going to hit his groins). Maybe this pose?

please... leave spandex out of the Imperial Munitorum for cadian guardsmen! for the love of the god-emperor, it should only be reserved for those sexy callidus assassins!

p.s. leave it to the finn to find something wrong with the skiing pose!

I feel it is now your duty to do a winter-warfare based Guard army in that style. Judging by the model, it would be the coolest thing since Siberia. (Geddit?)

Thanks all! I'd reply to you individually but I'm on my phone atm..anyways just wanted you all to know I have begun writing some fluff for a winter warfare IG army and am even mulling some special rules around the old noggin!
