Hi all
thought i would post some of the current work in progress projects im on.
pics are 2 warhound titan (one jackal pattern and one mars pattern)
and a nearly finished Tau army.
I also have 4 other armies on the go at the moment but i cant call any of them complete yet as im still not great with the finishing steps (shading etc) although i must admit i dont like adding mud effects etc to models i prefer the crisp look like the army has been readied for battle, why would any army go into a battle with a dirty tank? unless coming straight from another battle lol, they look after there machines with pride.
be interested in some feedback and any tips on finishing.

The Titans look excellent, but I have to ask: Why no Turbo-Lasers?

I tend to prefer the mega bolter plasma combo. If i change my mind in the future both titans are fully magnetized so can change out the weapons. I have magnatized the weapons, waist, all the leg armour and the head and body covers. It helps for painting and allows weapon change outs.

nice tau paint scheme. thanks for posting the side by sides of the warhounds. sometimes its difficult to see how different they are until they're next to each other. i think i like the angularity on the lucius pattern more.

Interesting color scheme on the Mars Pattern. Very crisp. Reminds me of the Menoth from WM. Is that for a particular chapter or did you just like the look?

Very crisp painting!

Loving the shade of blue you've got on the tau, and the plasma weapon on the white titan is awesome.
Only advice I can give you is that maybe the gold trim should continue "around the corners" of the edge-parts you have it on... But then again, I'm unfamiliar with the model.
For all I know you've painted it exactly how it should be done and the white "under" the gold just looks a bit off in those pics. Good work regardless.

hi all
thanks for the feedback, keep it coming.
the colour scheme on the white titan was based on "the crusades" knights templar kind of colours i thought it suited all the details on the titan and with the titans being such prized possessions of the imperium i thought it befitted it.

I know what you mean about continueing the gold round as that was my first thoughts but it becomes quite a big lump of gold then and looks like bling rather than ornate decoration. if i was more artistic i could probably make it blend but im not a great painter.

im kind of stuck with the green titan, not sure where to go with it, its that green as it matches my imperial guard army and im not good at painting free hand so flames etc is out. any thoughts?

the storm conversion looks cool and appropriate. the only thing i'd recommend is getting rid of the small wings/canards as you've converted it to look like a ground vehicle. they detract from the overall jeep feel of the conversion.

I agree. They look like little useless wings, at the moment. I'd either scrap them and go for more of a sand rail/dune buggy style, with the tires sticking out or add downward sloping plasticard plates to the front and back, enclosing the top of the wheels, so it looks like intentional plating. IIRC, the Storm model has running boards, so it would make sense to protect the passengers from spinning tires and the debris they throw.

i might try that. i was going for the look of a freshly converted landspeeder as if just done to get back into the battle when there anti grav engines failed.

Hi all
the main wip i have at the moment is coming to an end. i need to finish basing it all and a few last bits.
what do you think of the imperial guard army?
in particular what do you think of using the rhinos as hydra's. They remind me of some 80's coldwar support type vehicles. i really like that look in the imperial guard army as it adds a bit of a more modern twist.
what do you think?

As much as I love the Vulcan Mega-bolter, the Turbo Laser-Destructor sure is a sweet weapon...

Either way though, nice titans!

I don't think I've seen the Tau color scheme on any army before

I like it

10k pts Eldar (no jetbikes -- how is that possible?)

2k pts 3rd edition Wolves (no werewolves or clifford cavalry -- but I do have a nifty Leman Russ Exterminator shaped paperweight)

3k pts chaos marines

the space marine pics are my full sm army so about 5000ish points, im in the process of splitting it into a blood angles (and repainting) and an ultramarines army. both on the 2000 - 2500 point range.
the imperial guard army is just my 1750 list army, have got about another 1500 points in reserve too, manticore, tauraus venitour, heavy weapons, basi and russ's.

the paint on the tau came from a purchase on ebay that looked cool. i always thought it as the colour scheme of a tau race on a planet lite by a blue giant sun or something like that lol.

thanks for the comments on the titans.

any ideas on how to continue with the green titan? im kind off at a dead end with it.

Runnin up on ya.

You have entirely too many armies; give one of them to me. j/k

Nice paint jobs but your Tau look lonely without some kroot.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

Nice armies you have there. If you had some basing on those piranhas that would make them look very epic.
