I went with IW for my come back tour lol, seems to be a popular theme...
Depending on how much you like to paint, the Night Stalkers look really cool, as do the Hakanor's Reavers(I dont have a scanner, but they are in the codex), but my favorite besides the IW is The Cleaved, whitish grey armor with black oil leaking from the joints and sockets.
If you dont like to paint a lot of different colors, the Steel Brethren look pretty simple, steel color w/ one black shoulder guard, would be quick and easy.
Anyway I go based on look of the model more than their story line or past, because most of the folks out there have no idea what any of the chaos legions have done and honestly if they havnt played chaos or SM they usually dont care unless it involves special rules, but thats just my 2 cents

I dont think we can decide for you what legion/warband you want to play. Its going to be your army, your painting, your gaming, so just do what you want to do.
