The Winter Wolves: The Great Company of Death
[I started the idea after reading the Blood Angels Codex, but not wanting to start up another Space Marine Army. So I have come up with a new Space Wolf Company with a tragic future.]

Wolf Lord Kampftänzer {Battle Dancer}

He got the name “Battle Dancer” during the 1st Battle of Armageddon. He was part of the Grey Hunter Packs on the River Chaeron. His pack was overran by one of Chaos hordes and almost wiped out. Disarmed he reached out for any weapon and picked up a spear fought with all of his remaining strength, during this fight those around him were affected by a pack of Slaanesh Daemonettes Aura of Acquiescence. As Kampftänzer charged in to the unit of Slaanesh Daemonettes those under the effect could swore that he “danced” as he fought.
Eventually the other Grey Hunters came to his Pack’s aid, but it was too late. Only he and one other had survived. His pack mate was so injured that he almost did not make it, his fate though was to become on of the chapters new Dreadnaughts taking the place of one of the heroes that fell in the river battle.
Recovering from his own wounds he was able to take part of the final battles. He joined this battle as a Lone Wolf though. Taking up a Frost Axe in one hand and Storm Bolter in the other he charged anything bigger than himself. In one battle he saw a Chaos Soul-Grinder in close combat with one of the Armageddon Guard units. Seeing his chance for greater glory he took the demolition pouch of a fallen Guardsman and charged the Soul-Grinder.
Quickly strapping it to his axe he slid under it embedding the axe into its belly. The ensuing explosion blew it almost in half and sent Kampftänzer about 20m away. As he awoke he though he had managed to die a warriors death when a white haze of an image was over him. It turned out to be a Grey Knight. He reached down and picked him up and asked him if was going to live. “Battle Dancer” looked at him ad said not by choice. “Battle Dancer” swore the Grey Knight almost chuckled and told him if he had a death wish this was the place and then turned and charged off towards a pack of Chaos Hounds. Kampftänzer reached down for the nearest weapon he could find and picked up one of the fallen Grey Knight’s glaives and Charged off to confront a Pack of Bloodletters.
Later aboard one of the ship as he contemplated his fate for not being able to die his glorious death, Ragnar came to him and asked if he was interested joining his Wolf Guard, he had at least earned that much. Looking down at the Grey Knight weapon he decided that he would, but first he needed to return something. He grabbed the next shuttle heading towards the planet and found a battle that had some Grey Knights in it. He charged into battle once more. This time after the battle, he returned the glaive to their “Pack Leader”. Once more the Grey Knight spoke to him with a simple thank you.
Back on Fenris he went to the Iron Priest to have them fashion new blade. While he was there he encountered his former Pack Mate just before he went into his slumber. They shared there war stories once more. The old Iron Priest made him work for his blade. He spent much time moving heavy things and other task. When he was done he was given his new Frost Glaive.
He was also sent to train with the “Death Watch”. His time with the “Death Watch” a busy time as he went on many missions. He also encountered the Grey Knights 2 more times, and was very impressed with them, though he knick named them the Ghost Knights as they always seemed to be only shadowy figures that would appear and disappear at will.
After returning from that training he joined Ragnar’s Wolf Guard eventually leading them. When he was allowed to start forming his “Own” Wolf Guard” he stared to fashion them after the “Ghost Knights”, with Storm Bolters or Combi-Weapon and Frost Blades.

Some time later Kampftänzer was given command of a Wolf Guard near of the Eye of Terror. A Chaos Sorcerer was trying to open the Eye once more. The Great Company podded in with Wolf Guard, Grey Hunters, Long Fangs, and Skyclaws into the heart of the fortress while a squadron of Thunder-Hawks dropped the Thunderwolves and Swiftclaws just out of range of the flack guns.
During the assault, the Wolf Lord fell in battle with a daemon. Kampftänzer quickly took charge and lead the counter attack to avenge his lords’ death. He personally slew the daemon in hand-to-hand combat.
They reached the inner sanctum as the ceremony was reaching it’s climax. The Chaos Sorcerer vanished in a volley of Assault Cannon and Melta-Gun blast. However there was a great explosion of energy that engulfed the whole planet. It seemed to have no effect on anyone there.
In the aftermath of the battle Kampftänzer was named the new Wolf Lord and gifted with a set of Terminator Armor. After that they all started their voyage home.
It was found out later during the voyage home that there were some effects. Slowly random Space Wolves started being effected by their Mark. Some just grew feral and violent while others actually started to mutate.
Kampftänzer called the Iron Priest, Rune Priest and Wolf Priest to find out was going on. They quickly determined that it was the result of the Chaos Sorcerer’s spell that started to mutate the Canis Helix causing it mutate quicker is some and in some causing real mutations.
After reaching Fang, a council was called to determine what to do. It was ruled that they could not set foot on Fang, for it was not known if the effects were contagious. They would still be allowed to fight in the name of Russ, but they were now a dying Great Company.
Kampftänzer ordered that those who wish to can Paint their Armor White as they were now already Dead. Now they are fighting to live. Many have started putting the Double Wolf Head of Morkai on their armor.
As time passes Kampftänzer wonders when he succumb to the Mark as many of his Wolf Brother are.

[I am sorry I have no real Pictures right now, but this is some the Paint Schemes I have come up with.]

Quite a nice back story, however it needs a bit of work. The language used is sloppy and doesn't always make sense and is sometimes a pain to read.
Are you going to use the blood angels codex or the space wolves? As it isn't very clear.
Nice scheme though, how large is the army going to be?

"Model collector why are you wearing friday socks, its thursday today."

Pretty cool back story. I vote that he has his super companion as a wolf guard battle leader to charge into battle with him!

The purpose of argument is informative discourse, not to see who finishes in front.

Actualy he is now a Deadnaught armed with a Twin Linked Heacy Bolter and a Storm Bolter. I made the Heacy Bolter out of a Pair of Heavy Bolters and have him holding it like a Giant Stomr Bolter.
