As a followup to my first attempt at painting a diorama (which received some really positive critique) then my second attempt which was a mismatch of 3 different marines in imperial fist, Dusk Raider-esque and Wolfhound chapter colours, I then decided to try out a 54mm inquisitor scale model.
I am pretty happy with the result. The model is actually a sadist to get to stand up balanced so it suffered from broken arms a couple of times due to its own weight collapsing the figure.
I opted for a custom base which I made, which was also heavier- rooting the figure firmly to the ground.
Again, I think it did not go perfect, nor were all my colour decisions correct in retrospect, but I tried to take onboard some of the advice given,... baal red undercoat followed by blood red, less wash (with black this time). A better result based on some of the advice given by the kind posters on this board.
At £20 a go perhaps I should not be experimenting on models of this scale, but I can afford it.
My next project will be a nativity scene using the Prince August molding set,... but thats another story for another day.
Let me know what you guys think (and please try avert your eye's from my astartes dodgey left eye lol).
