Stealthy Dark Angels Scout with Shotgun

I've been working on a set of three deathwatch marines in Inquisitor scale. Started out with converting the Artemis model into a heavy bolter wielding Dark angel. Then decided to make a Space Wolf with a power axe and stormshield (still wip) After figuring that these two are more likely to kill eachother than the aliens they are sent against decided to make an ultramarine with a bionic leg and half a bionic head (only just bought the model) to stand between them and keep 'em in line.
Once these three are done I'm planning to make them some enemies and this is where i'm after some guidance. What would the greater Dakka community suggest as a good starting place to build some appropriate tyranid enemies? I was thinking start with the parts from a hive tyrant and a carnifex in 40K scale and add in parts from a couple of inquisitor scale models i've got in the bitz box. i'm just not to sure if this will work scale wise, if anyone has any opinions or advice, let me know.

Tyranid warriors are quite easy to turn into =I= scale gaunts. The old 3e hive tyrant can make quite a good =I= scale warrior too, or be the basis for a lictor. The red terror can be close to an =I= scale ravener.
Also, pics or it didn't happen.

many apologies for not posting pics first. One quick improptu photo shoot later...
Game ballance wise these guys are nigh on impossible to use in a campaign together but what i was thinking is they would be introduced as a seperate unit controlled by the gm and pretty much ignore any other factions on the board and have the gm announce something like, "Xenos kill team turns up in area with a report of tyranid activity close by" then they start scanning and searching untill they find where the gm has hidden the nasties (or until some poor scmuck in another group finds the 'nids) and set upon eradicating the alien threat.
with this in mind how many nids do we think would be a good enough challenge for these three? The ultramarines main gear is going to be powersword and a combi bolter melta but apart from that nothing to special (apart from that bionic leg)

Indeed. Very cool stuff. I've never play =I= myself, so I'm not sure how many bugs you'll need, but I've read the book, and considering how badass three marines would be, my guess is at least as many big monsters as there are marines, plus a good handfull of hormagaunts and termagants.

Okay I'm thinking of making one single 'Nid for these boys to tackle. I'm going to start with a 40K scale trygon model and extend it out by cutting the segments apart and pinning them together with about a one inch gap between segments then add in some more 'Nid apendages lower down the abdomen to make up for the expanded space.

Behold for I am Become death. The raiser of old threads!
But seriously I've started work on this project again and have a couple of more pics to add.
The first pic is of the third marines legs now assembled. Still need to do filling work around the right hip and adjust his left toe so that it is flat on the ground.
The second is a rough mock up of him pinned and bluetacked together
