Hey I need some scale help here. I know that the 40k scales are all tweaked out, but would a 1/35 scale tank be the right size to konvert? Thanks for commenting.

GW uses something like 1/48. Orks are bigger than humans though, so a larger scale than that would be better. So yeah 1/35 sounds about right

40k has no consistent scale, as even hands and body have different scales.
Anyway, nominally most 1/56 scale vehicles fit and 1/48 are next. 1/35 is about double 40k scale and what Inquisitor miniatures are made for. SHould not fit in most cases. But in the end, only eye judgment can tell.

I'm looking at ork boys and some tamiya 1/35 vehicle accessories and they look about right. I think 1/35 will be excellent for you. Orks are orks though so you don't have to be that picky.

Heres a scale comparison between a sherman (1/35), a guardsman and a tiger tank (1/48).

personally i'd go with 1/35, more room, bigger, so you can actually fit them in there!

Technically 25-28mm scale models should be equivalent to S Scale or roughly 1:64. Of course, that scale won't really fit nice and cozy with GW miniatures since there are differences per model on its proportions, so my advice is to judge it by eye, so it should be roughly half as bigger.

Violence is not the answer, but it's always a good guess.

A cool thing to Konvert are 1:35 scale WWI tanks, you can pick em up for about £10 - £12, my m8 did it and it looks lush

strangely, 1/35 fits 40k really well sometimes even for being almost double the scale size. thats GW for you. no sense of scale whatsoever. although most 1/35 tanks would be more malcador size than leman russ seize. more length

theres a dakka dakka article on it
