It's kind of obscure called 2001 a Space Odyssey, I wonder if anyone here has heard of it.

Damn it is good. I saw it in HS and didn't get but now...

Wow. It's amazing that science fiction films are still swipping from it. I never knew the classic hyperspace/warp speed effect was from it.

Seriously, you are kidding right...

Assuming your not, don't hurt your brain by watching the sequel, your soul won't thank you even if your a fan of Roy Schnieder!

Also, now there's heaps of simpsons episode to watch that will be twice as funny!

I would dare you to watch the epic, multi-trillion dollar money cash cow that was the sequel to the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

But I need to find that darn title for it...

I'd forgetten 2010, I think I saw that in HS as well. It would be neat to see it just because I love films whose future is now our present or past.

Shock Treatment. It's in my 265 title Netflix queue.

I OWN Zardoz

2 things I noticed, (keep in mind this was made in 1968!) on the flight to the moon they have TV on the back of chairs.

On the Jupiter Mission they have ipads.

Still no space stations or moon base, but damn. What vision. Go Clarke and Kubrick!

I still can't decide if I like that movie.

I've seen it many times, I just have this mixed reaction of joy and disgust throughout the whole thing.

Drink deeply and lustily from the foamy draught of evil.

Shock Treatment was the sequel to RHPS, but it was hardly an epic, multi-trillion dollar money cash cow.

I own Zardoz too. I am happy that Hollywood hasn't tried to remake it. Somehow "Zardoz starring Will Smith" doesn't sound too appealing.

Can you imagine a remake of 2001 by Michael "lotsoexplosions" Mann?

M.

Jenkins: You don't have jurisdiction here!
Smith Jamison: We aren't here, which means when we open up on you and shred your bodies with automatic fire then this will never have happened.

About the Clans: "Those brief outbursts of sense can't hold back the wave of sibko bred, over hormoned sociopaths that they crank out though."

No film has been as consistently overrated as this snoozefest.

Yep, I'll agree with that Manchu, it was like the scene from Star Trek: The Motion Picture, where they flew around the ship for twenty minutes, only it went for two hours and had monkeys in it!

I wonder where Kubrick stashed the deleted scene with Dave and Frank watching paint dry.

I think this thread needs a new direction.

Who's voice would you use for HAL in a Special Edition™ version of 2001: A Space Odyssey?

Ben Stein.

Stephen Colbert.

Kenau Reeves.

Eddie Murphy.

Swedish Chef.

I had a model of the Moon Bus as a kid. It cost about $7 back then if memory serves. A kit like that would cost some bucks these days.
