So I finally got around to building my Space Wolves. What I planned for my 1850 list...

Logan Grimnar

Rune Priest w/ Living Lightning and JOWW

Rune Priest w/ Living Lightning and Muderous Hurricane

Rune Priest w/ Living Lightning and Tempest Wrath

2 x3 Wolfguard each w/ combi melta and combi flamer in Razorback w/ TL Assault Cannon

2 x3 Wolfguard each w/ combi plasma and combi flamer in Razorback w/ TL Assault Cannon

1 x6 Long Fangs w/ Missile Launchers x5 and Drop Pod

2 x6 Long Fangs w/ Missile Launchers x5 and Razorback w/ TL Assault Cannon

I have 34 points to spend...

I again can not claim this as my painting. Met dude at FLGS in my city. He commissions his skills and I bit. He is a Golden Daemon place winner, 3rd in last Chicago GD. I did all the prep work and handed them off. See his work on Cool mini or not...artist name Samson.

Because he /she likes to play? Perhaps he he/she has bad eyesight. shaky hands, a job that does not allow much free time, is color blind, ect.

Back on topic, they look great and the list looks pretty solid. The only thing I would change is the Drop pod longfangs, since they are coming down on turn one with Logan I would give at least a few of them multi-meltas.

I recognise my limits. Mostly it's no time to paint myself and there are people locally who have some skill.

As opposed to most of the times, when people commission for an army because they don't want to paint because they don't trust their own skills. It's fair, but it was an innocent question as shown by the emoticon he used in the end. No need to come out with two guns. The poor guy'll never ask a question again on these forums

Back on topic, I hate you Old Man Ultra! I've been looking for that miniature for ages, but I can only get it if I order it from GW online. Which wouldn't be a problem, but I don't have a VISA.

Still, it's gearing up to be a great project, though I think the painter you commissioned could've tried to find different miniatures, or at least vary the wargear a bit. And I wasn't convinced by his painting, it's not that it's bad (could've been the pictures) but they looked a bit messy in some parts. Hope to see more stuff soon, especially as I'm starting a S. Wolf army too (and I fell in love with the Terminators, they're just awesome, I still haven't painted the first five and I already want another box...)

I lol'd at this, but I understand what he is saying. My answer... I paid a ton of money for my models and I want them to look good. I don't have time to do it so I have friends do it. I get awesome minis, they get cash. WIN/WIN

This list is first wave. I've considered MM's. Have TWC coming, when I decide on which wolf mount to use.

Yeah, tons of difference now. Now I hate you even more, because they follow the colour scheme I wanted and look better than what I could do

At that painting level it's going to be quite an army. Do you have a date for completion?

And Old Man Ultramarine I see, if you don't got the time to paint then that's just ok, I were just curious.

So long as you realize it's just part of the hobby.

Personally i dislike painting and really like making the models as well as battling people but go figure people have dfferent tastes.
Also those Rune Priests look awesome hopefully those Long Fangs will look more awesome due to the effects can't wait to see them.

2 weeks from now is plan. I've been dropping ball on trimming vehicles. 6 razorbacks and droppod and I don't get it done.

I saw the missile launcher (top picture) last night. I tinkled alittle.

It's not that I dislike painting. I don't have time. I do take the time to clip, mouldline trim, and partially assemble my models.

Old Man Ultra - those are some great looking models.

Do you plan on getting all the units in your army commission painted by the same guy? If so, it'll probably take a long time and a lot of $$$. If not, which units are you planning on painting yourself and how do you plan on keeping a unified look throughout your army?

I will have same person paint everything. My next wave will be TWC x15 or so.

Wednesday should bring an update of all my infantry...

My friend Sam, Samson on Coolminiornot, painted my army and he didn't disappoint.

Logan will throttle opponents.

he niece painted give my complaments too the dude who did them. just a couple of things.
do you have unit markers?
why units of 3 wont they be shot too bits by almost everything?
and personaly i think you overdid the duel wield effect just like the missle shooting effect you know too much. the shot effect looks great but in my eyes there all the same you could have made one rocket comming out with just the tip schowing or one with only the bck blast you get what i mean. too much of the same and it losses impact.

But thats just my opinion

The whole army is over the top.

The WG have shoulder pad markings to seperate units.

The effect of 6 of 15 Long Fangs having the missiles in mid flight just looks cool.

3 man units will probably get shot up, but they aren't meant to get out of vehicle til they are shot out, unless they are cleaning up squads. Besides the arms are magnetized for future changes.

I get what you are saying, but I'm content playing an army of since I rarely do it.

I love cheese on my sandwich. I try too avoid cheese on the tabletop (it gets messy). but i get your point a chees army can be fun too play once in a while and i wont go too a big tournament without one (thats why i dont go too big tournaments)
