I'm starting a Cryx army, and I just painted a bonejack to test my colour scheme.

I gave it my first attempt at OSL, I think it worked out ok. The photos don't capture it very well but the glowing vents on the underside are painted as bright as the chimneys, so there is a bit of glow on the inside of the legs.
I think the base looks a little tacky with the frontal arc lines drawn on it, they worked while the model was unpainted but I want something better looking there now.

Thoughts?

great looking model, but I think the green should not continue onto the base. Something more contrasting would bring out the green on your mini much better. right now it kind of blends down into the base, and removing the green and putting in some darker greys/blacks with drybrushed rocks would make a sort of visual cut off line. Just my thoughts, the mini itself looks fantastic

In your head, screwing with your thoughts...

Hella better than my bonechickens, dude... Care to write up a photo tutorial of how you did the necrovents/glowy bits?

Good point about the base being too green BlackMojo, I'll try something different.

As for the necrovent recipe, it's nothing fancy.

Goblin green along the whole vent.
Scorpion green to 2/3rds along the vent.
Scorpion green : Sunburst yellow 2:1 one third of the way along the vent.
Then a dot of Scorpion green : Sunburst yellow 1:2 at the end of it.

After painting the rest of the model I did a little drybrushing of goblin green and scorpion green around the edge of the chimneys and some deeper vents.
