Here is the big question, are Grey Knights silver or Gray? I was thinking that when i get my GK termis i would do a light codex gray with a siver dry brsu just to get the flakes on there. thought it might give it that mystical shine. What do you think?

In every context I've seen, they've painted them actual silver. Your techinique sounds a tad unusual, but it could work out pretty well.

I like to experiment with new things that people haven't tried yet. I have to order them first, and I'm on deployment so it'll be at least a month till I get them.

Reading. Do it, then comprehend it.
I've always seen them painted silver, except for the few that go and make us all look bad by pullin off some incredibly awesome NMM job. In fact, I read somewhere (codex maybe) that their armor is left unpainted and shows the bare, gleeming metal. Supposed to represent their "purity."

I typically see them in silver. However, my favorite Grey Knights thus far have been in gray with a lava themed base:

I'd definitely like to see how your proposal turns out though.

I would try to go with a gold or like and orange brass color.

^ WTF?
I'd paint them pink with yellow lightning bolts.
