Hi,

This is the first model I've painted in close to 10 years or so.

I've only got a limited set of colours at the moment, hence no purity seals and other bits. I bought some models cheap from a mate and am just experimenting with colours are techniques before trying them out on my Forge World stuff .

My inspiration is from Ancient Vasoudaeva yes ironic it's a Ultramarine model

Anyway keen to hear some criticism or suggestions, I'm going to be starting on highlights pretty soon after reading a few comments hopefully

On thing I'm wondering is whether it is "green" enough? I'm using Hawk Turquoise, I tried to mix up a greener version using some dark angels green, but didn't have much luck :(

mesa, az

i love that color and your maine looks good but i think a dark blue wash would be better rather than a black one

There isn't enough green it just doesn't look like Alpha.

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.

If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in.

I've been given the suggestion of using an Asurman Blue wash... However I agree with illuknisaa I think I need more Green.

So would the painting go something like this?

1) Black Undercoat
2) Hawk Turquoise Base Coat
3) Blue or Green wash (currently using Badab Black)
4) Repaint the "flat" area again with hawk turquoise or just leave the wash on ?

EDIT: Here are some examples of Forgeworld Alpha's using a turquoise colour scheme http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Images/Product/AlternativeFW/xlarge/vraks31.jpg
