Seeing as the game thread is beginning to approach 2000 views (which is well above average for the Spulk forums), and it can't all be from my group constantly checking back to see if someone else has posted, it must mean that there are other users lurking my thread.

So, seeing as my group have been pestering me to get this thread up (yes you have, you know who you are), and to give our lurkers (and groupies) a place to spout off about how atrocious my GMing is, and to comment on the game in general. I will also allow people who want to join our group to say so here. I'd also like to find out whose watching this thing, so if you haven't yet got an account on Dakka, get one (it's free!)*.

Anyway, this thread is for comments on the game, advice aimed at any of us (especially GMing advice), and wild speculation from non-players. I will neither confirm nor deny any ideas, but don't go into too much detail in case you influence one of my players opinions.

Hopefully this thread will be of some use.

Anyway, so in my Photo editing class I chose a project to do a game cover and thought to myself, "Dark Heresy: Reign of Iron!".
So I have the title, background is debatable right now, but as for characters, I don't really have any good ones. If you wanted me to edit your character into the pic, I would need you to find a pic that looks like what your character would look like. It doesn't mean your character necessarily looks like that, but at least get something in your characters occupation ex. Uriah, Cleric.
If you guys would like it, just let me know and I'll wait for the pics, otherwise I'm going to keep editing it in the way I was.

Finally, an actual use for this thing.

I greatly apologize because there is NO way that I will be able to get online....due to marching band, I'm going to be gone.....all day.

Just to let you all know that playing days will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday, in the evening, preferably from 8PM onwards (BST)

If you can't make it or will not be there for several sessions just let either me or someone else know ahead of time so we can plan for it.

Penalties for being AWOL (without any form of communication)

>1 week - Half RP bonus

>2 Weeks - No RP bonus

>3 Weeks - No Experience gained at all and your character will be targetted more often by NPC's.

>4 Weeks - As above. In addition, your character will dissapear mysteriously to be retired temporarily at the end of the adventure if no communication is recieved by that point.

Other punishments may be added at the GMs discretion.

Ok, why is it a bit harsh, and what changes would you make?

As a grade a Hard-ass, I think they're not harsh enough.
We all know the rules/consequences and what not.

Although with band, this will affect me incredibly. Monday's it will be minimum 1 hour before I can get online(usually). Wensday same thing because I ride the bus home which takes an hour. Friday's may be the good although I'll be about 15 minutes late.


After band is over, in 1 to 2 weeks then, if I take the bus home, I'll have about 1 hour before I get home. then about 15 to 30 minutes before I can get online.
Its this way for all our RPing days.


Of course I'll probably find ways to get online as much as possible and what-not and find ways around the schedule.

As for band, I recommend you send a PM to Dave about how you would like your character to react to combat.

"I fire semi-auto bursts at nearest target" or "I fire at what other people are firing at" or "I get to cover ASAP" or "I try to flank when I can." are all good bits of guidence that would let Dave cover down for you if you are not around.

Or talk about it it with your team, and let them be your proxy. Either way, we need to figure out a system to move forward with combat when we are not all here. We have too many week-long breaks in progress because we should be fighting, but no one wants to roll for someone else.

The only thing I would add about missing for weeks on end is that I will keep all your stuff when you are dead, and I will sell it, and I will spend the money on frivolous and silly things, like expensive data slates that store popular music or spa treatments when I get back to civilization.

Hopefully will be helping out over next few sessions! Actually having the time to help the group out is great. Overall great fun so far reading. The penalties look very lenient. If they have 2 weeks in a row not actively contributing/ ( say 6 sessions without warning they wont be around or explaining lack of attendance/not covering for themselves? ) I would say they likely haven't the time to play and should gain only minimum wages suitable for their character. And whatever other nasties at the games masters discretion. Possibly written out of the game if not heard from for say a month?

Seeing as there are now only 5 of us who can be relied on to turn up now, I need two people to volunteer for the next GMing slot. The group might not be split so I'll need one person who can definately do the next game and one backup in case the situation arises where we can concievably split the group.
