One of my favorite parts of the hobby is modeling/painting. Modeling I'm not so good at. Painting, I'd say I'm decent at.
I love to freehand, and I am definitely open to ideas for rhino/vehicle designs (as well anything else you can advise me at).
Most of my stuff is not painted, but it is slowly getting there.

I am trying to create an army around the idea of desolation. I decided to go Plague Marines because they fit my playing style, and sort of fit in with the whole "scarab/desert/plague" sort of theme (and I'm not a fan of playing thousand sons). I am open to any ideas/suggestions anyone has.

One of my next projects is going to be to take scarabs from the necrons, make sand mounds, and shove them in it. Then I can use them as lesser daemons.

Here is what I have done so far.

Nurglely goodness

Desert Undivided Marine (my template for the remaining squad)

Mummy Undivided Marine (my template for the remaining squad)

Desert Terminator (my template for whenever I buy more terminators)

Lords with Daemon Weapons

Daemon prince (slowly getting completed, as I am lazy)

Converted Obliterator (from a BL terminator, not the best, but you can tell it is an obliterator)

Urban Rhino (damn chaos space marines tagged it. This is still a work in progress)

What... do the tags say? Nice work it's all very well painted.

Son can you play me a memory? I'm not really sure how it goes...

It says "sabaku". Translated from Japanese, it means "desert".

I do an assembly line style painting, so I knock out about 3 to 5 guys at a time. Just finished these 3.

Love the Nurgle Icon on your 2 rhinos. The mummy marines are pretty sick to. Something I havnt seen done before. Nice work. Will be watching.

I think the mummification is a little excessive; it's hard to tell what's going on with the model. I think being a little bit more sparse with the bandaging (to the point where you can obviously make out details underneath) would go a long way towards getting your idea across. It's a cool and unique idea regardless.

Yeah, I definitely agree with that. The bandages are a little too heavy for me...that being said though, they look exceptional mate, I can't even begin to imagine how you do that!

Thanks for the comments. The reason that the bandages are so thick on certain models is because of what the models are. I am trying to cover up some Black Reach Marines and a few models my dog decided to make a chew toy. I tried to figure out a way to make them usable in my chaos army without just putting them in a box and forgetting about them.

With the rhino, the hatches are going to be done heavily, while the rest of the tank is done lightly.

I'm sort of 50/50 on using brown for the shoulder pads, anyone have any suggestions on a color that would coincide better with the bandages?

Even in the far future, there are some neighborhoods you just can't park in, apparently.

I like the "toned down" bandages better, looks more believable. You have some nice ideas, the graphic on the rhino looks never neat and striking, i'm not sure it goes with the mummified theme you have going on however.

Keep going though, some nice things happening.... be careful to clean off that model flash!! hate it hate it!!

I'm digging it! I really like the nurgle signs on the first few rhinos and the mummy marines are perfect.

Thanks for the compliments.

I forgot to post these guys up to (although I haven't done anything to them yet, there are 14 of them).
I really miss the old chaos terminator design.

Freehand tagging on the rhino is awesome.

Nothing currently, got out of the hobby, maybe getting back in?

Those Rhinos of yours are pretty good. But those "mummymarines" look really stupid not to mention about that Obliterator.

For Obli you should try to make some pale flesh with no skin. Thats the way you make Oblis who really look like one.

I love the rhinos, your freehand is excellent, the mummies are also a cool idea, the only thing I don't really like was that oblit.

Sihamoni takes great pride in the league he helped create, as was conveyed in his recent advertising campaign for the CMFL that stated his midgets will "... take on anything; man, beast, or machine."

One thing I can't abide is that daemon weapon. We have ridiculously large weapons in 40k, true. That is not ridiculously large, that thing is beyond big. If we look at a SM as 7 feet, the weapon he's toting is probably 20+ feet long. That's over six metres.

Son can you play me a memory? I'm not really sure how it goes...

nice marines, the mummification is cool but could be used on all the marines, more sparingly.
