Ok so I got my Tau army started today (Woohoo!).

So I spend a few hour in the GW shop, assembling them (Legs, Torso and Head on the base) ready to spray them.

Then disaster hits....

My spray attemps are complete and utter ...

Nearly all the models are quite possibly over sprayed, even tho I wasnt spraying close to them. My Ethereal looks as if i dipped him in a bucket of black paint and left him to dry.... He might be salvageable.

I now find myself going over most of my models by hand to get a decent black coat on them.

Oh .... Just noticed the spray I was using is a Gloss Black.... thats probly why it went horribly wrong....

Just remove the basecoat and try again ?

I was thinking of that at 1st but now that i ahve hand based the bits i missed they look pretty much the same.

Im guessing the fact the Ethereal was metal made it look gak, but the necron abyss seems to be making it look decent.

I am however looking into a new line of spray, most likely Halfords spray lol.

That sucks. Try stripping them?

Considering it was a piece of gak to begin with it isnt that way now, it actually is starting to look decent.

May still need a fair amount of work till its finished but im very happy with it so far, so stripping it wont be needed

May I be so bold as to recommend Plastikote Matt Black Super? It's *gasp* not a primer, and i've had nothing but a perfect finish from it. Great adhesion, no stringing, smooth but not glossy (it still has a micro textured tooth for good acrylic binding), and a lovely matt finish. It's similar to the Chaos Black spray, only it's good.

Haha, yea that could happen but hopefully I plan to put him into an rea where he can see the troo[s to make use if the re-rolls but not be in any danger of being killed, hard to do?? maybe, depends on the terrain.
