Can you buy Twin-Linked Autocannon arms for dreadnaughts from anywhere?

If not and you have to model them, anyone have any good suggestions on where to get the cannons and best ways to convert them?

I bought the left and right autocannon arms for all 3 of my dreadnoughts off forge world and I kind of wish I hadn't. Most came warped and covered in flash and the holes for the arm to fit into weren't bored all the way out. I kind of wished I got this instead http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440312a&prodId=prod20006a its the aegis defense line and it comes with two auto cannons that go on a turret that you could probably put on a dread instead. Ive seen pictures on the net of dreads using the turret cannons for arms and they look pretty good. My dreads look good too but if your going to have to do a bunch of converting anyway because of forgeworlds crappy quality you might as well get a bunch of scenery while your at it. They are pretty similarly priced if your going to put autocannons on both arms.

Can you really have two TL Autocannons on a Naught? Because if so I want to start a SM-army and fill it with as many double Assault Cannons as possible!

I won't bother.

I'm pretty sure you need a DA Mortis Drednaught to be able to use 2 sets of autocannons.

Codex: Space Marines allows a standard or venerable dreadnought to exchange its multi-melta and/or DCCW for twin-linked autocannons.

So yes. You can have a pair of TLACs.

Never confuse assault cannons with autocannons. You may not dual wield assault cannons, you may dual wield autocannons.

It is my belief mortis dreadnoughts cannot even get 2 assault cannons, they can get 2 missile launchers and stuff, but not ACs. Correct if wrong.

Then why does it say mortis drednought autocannon on the the link you posted earlier Mellissia?

Thanks for the replies guys, I had searched Auto Cannon instead of Autocannon thats why I hadn't found it.

I am putting together a new space wolves list that runs 3 Dreads with 2 TL Autocannons on each.

Because that's the pattern of autocannon it is, duh. Put aside all this malarkey and look at the codex in question. Get your codex out. I am looking at page 137, the Space Marine Army List, Elites section, rules for the Dreadnought unit.

It is a walker-type vehicle, and starts with, amongst other things, a Multi-Melta and Dreadnought Close Combat Weapon. These two weapons may, separately be exchanged for certain options as listed in the codex. I will show you two options here, and these are FACTS about a fifth edition Space Marine army. If you wish to deny these facts, you are house ruling. That is fine, people play by house rules all the time. But you cannot argue that these statements are not RAW, because you are wrong.

Statement 1: The Dreadnought unit in Codex: Space Marines may replace its Multi-Melta with a Twin-Linked Autocannon for ## points.

Statement 2: The Dreadnought unit in Codex: Space Marines may replace its Dreadnought Close Combat Weapon with a Twin-Linked Autocannon for ## points.

Statement 3: These two statements are true regardless of if either or both is true-- there is no exception written in the codex that states that you may only have one or the other. Ergo:

Conclusion: The Dreadnought unit in Codex: Space Marines may replace its Dreadnought Close Combat Weapon with a Twin-Linked Autocannon for ## points, and may replace its Multi-Melta with a Twin-Linked Autocannon for ## points. Thus, it would end up with two Twin-Linked Autocannons at a total cost of 125 points.

This argument is over, I hope?

The atuocannons that come with the aegis defense line set look really nice, much better than the Forge World version and not too hard to convert or too expensive. Here's my WIP ven dread using them.

They're magnetized... the barrels are wanky because I bumped them before taking the picture. It's early WIP... chill.

It really does look like a Rifleman... though this is not a flattering photo, just put it up as it shows off the guns well. It actually looks pretty good from most tabletop angles. Works well but is at it's best when you've got something in front of it to keep it from getting assaulted. I run some sternguard in front of it, usually to very good effect as their long range & varied ammo options are a good compliment to the autocannons (the dread pops the transport and the sternguard can shoot at whatever comes out of it).

Actually, the first two posts in this thread are a Mk IV right arm and a Mk V left arm.

If you wanna be consistent, combine Melissia's Mk V left arm with this Mk V right arm.

sadly the 2 tl auto dread config is not particularly effective unless your opponents has tons of light armor. Its and RPS model that can end up a hero or a zero.

IE, it's almost inevitably effective in a tournament setting because almost all of these armies are mechanized or have monstrous creatures (or both).

Too true Melissia: the dread sternguard combo just had a banner day vs. chaos demons. 4x S7 linked shots are hard to argue with. Throw in a bunch of "poisoned" rounds for the sternguard and they can do a lot of damage very quickly.

Sounds like a good combo against Dark eldar and eldar as well. How about Orks?

Depends on how one runs one's Orks. Against MY Orks, autocannons are next to useless. 4 TL S7 AP4 shots will either kill 4 Boyz (which is fine, I have 16 more to jam down your throat in that unit alone) or do exactly no damage to one of my AV14 Battlewagons.

Autocannons are a middle-ground weapon, whereas my Orks are made of extremes.
