technically, there is ONE model.

I'd just use regular shoota boyz, but I'd add scopes, ammo belts, daggers as bayonets, and when possible, add styrene tubing barrel extensions.

I wouldn't suggest shoota boyz.
Flash gitz are big! They have nob stats so I would use nob models.
Here is my favourite picture I have seen of them. Unfortunately I don't know who to credit as I found it through google

No to this in the extreme. That would work fine if this were 3rd edition orks, where they were basically boyz with nice guns. But its not. FlashGits have nob stats, because they are nobs. So start with nobs firstly. They are easy enough to convert. Basically give them big flashy guns, make them look cool and your pretty much set. Youll have to make/scrounge alot of the guns, because the nobs set only comes with 2 or 3 guns that are big enough on their own, but this can be fun for an Ork. Sticking a couple shootas/big shootas together and adding things like Ouze said would work perfectly on those.

Heres a couple wip pics of my Gits to give you an idea

I like the guns on those KingCracker, but I always envision them having targeter headpieces etc.

Son can you play me a memory? I'm not really sure how it goes...

I used AoBR Nobz. Painted their guns Silver & Gold and covered their clothes in silver glitter. I'm known at the local club as the guy with the Glittery Nobz

Yea me too. My problem is, no matter how crafty and cheap I am, I just cant sculpt to save me. So alas, no head gear......not now anyways. Someday maybe

This made me laugh. PLEASE tell me you have pics. Even a blurry one, as long as I can see glitter in it

Also OP, PM me for some tips on actually playing with FlashGits. They take some getting used to but when you hammer out their play style, they can seriously mow down enemies

But Nobz are expensive, and boyz are cheap! Unless you're going to use AOBR Nobz....

Even still, not sure I'd convert probably the best unit in the codex into probably the worst unit in the codex. It just seems wrong.

All great ideas but nobz are actually bigger than flash gitz and are hard to stick extra armour on.Boys with big shootas would be best because of the ammo pack plus its easy just to stick tons of barrels on the long gun.

MaxMini makes a very nice (relatively cheap) set of pirate ork heads that fits on Nob bodies really well. My wife is in the process of using the pirate ork heads, nob bodies, and some slightly converted nob combi-weapons to make her Flash Git unit. The 3 that she has assembled look pretty cool.

Hard to stick extra armor on? Your joking right? Its easier to put MORE armor on nobs then boyz. Also FlashGits USED to be smaller then nobz, but they changed that in 5th. They are super rich, super tough nobs that like "mowing down the enemy in a hail of bullets before letting other Orks assault them"

Your right about the armour but flash gitz are slightly smaller than other nobz so eather big boyz or small nobz can be used

Can I ask where your getting the Flashgits are smaller then nobs? You do know nobs come in many different sizes. The ones that fight more, are much larger then nobs that dont see so much combat. Im just curious where your getting this from.

As far as modeling, the only things I can think of that is in between a nob and a boy is a black orc from fantasy. And that would take some serious converting to get make them look 40k. At the very least the armor would easily show a 4+ armor save
