Norman Wisdom one of our all time great UK comedy actors died at the fine old age of 95 last night. I remember seeing alot of his films of as I was growing up, especially in the afternoons when they where often played, and I've always been a fan of his. He stared in many great movies from the early fifties through to the late sixties, and the re-occuring characters Norman Pitkin and Mr Grimsdale where two of my faves.

I'm quite positive if there is a Heaven, Norman is scampering around in front of the gates after accidently getting himself locked out, while Edward Champman makes his way to let him in.

RIP Norman, you will be missed.

Here's a few classic moments.

He was a rare talent. As more and more of the old guard pass on, I grieve the lack of talent that inherits the entertainment industry, bland 'pretty faces' and reality tv show escapees.

He had a great deal of timing and was renown for his gentle and kind nature. Even Charlie Chaplin called him 'my favourite clown'.

I wonder if Albania will have a day of mourning?
