I have to say an improved PM Interface would be nice. Say sort or search by the guys name.

Some time I plan to make it more like an email inbox, but it is a very low priority as there are only a few dozen users who have enough PMs to justify it.

Perhaps you could make a 'send to many' feature for DCMs? So I can spam lolcats to mods! (or just send some notes to more than one interested party, as 'quote' invariably sends it to my own addy, despite changing the name to the new recipient...)

would it be possible get the 'You have a new PM' email contain either the message, or if its just someone hit the 'friend' button to tell me in the e-mail?

Send to many requires a rebuild of the mail sending system that will not be coming for quite some time.

PM content in emails might come at some point, as it is good for users, but it does keep people away from dakka where they might otherwise me curious to come back and see what the PM is. 99.9% of the time I'll go with what is good for users but that tiny leftover fraction makes me lazy for this particular change any time in the near future.

Even just sending the subject would be very helpful

I kinda like the mystery of the "New Private Message (1)" up in the corner . Never had that experience through email, since I didn't even know I could have Dakka email me a notification about it!

I do wish we could search PM's... someone asked me a question awhile back which I now have the answer to, but I can't remember who asked . Thinking of doing a manual search around the general date, but it's daunting...
