With many thanks to Gavin Thorne, who showed/inspired me with his awesome tutorial, here are my converted Immortals.

1.) I didn't follow the tutorial exactly. I doubt I would have been able to cut/shape/sculpt the leg armor very well, so didn't bother.
2.) Instead of using a bass guitar string for the spine, I cut a shape of plasticard, and notched it with a dremel tool cutoff wheel.
3.) I modified the shoulder blade instructions to include a rope of greenstuff along the spinal edge, sculpted to look like it does on the oem model.
4.) For one of them, I tried using yellow styrene rod, but it just wasn't bright enough, so with the rest of them I used standard green rods.

I wound up converting 9, as at the time I did own one retail Immortal. I got an additional Immortal on a lark, so now have a rather odd 11 Immortals total.

Those are really impressive! I have always liked Necrons but the cost kept me away.

Impressive. Without a good look I'd have never known they were converted. Not a big fan of the yellow rods though, going with the green works much better.

Yeah, the yellow rods were a test item, and I wound up sticking with them because I'm out of actual green rods. They'll only stay until I get another pair of green rods, and I expect I'll have an extra pair with my Tomb Stalker.

I'm not really sure. It just felt right. Normally Immortals have a symbol on their foreheads, and these guys didn't - it looked too plain. Originally I also had 3 red stripes under each eye, like a kabuki mask, but then the faces looked too busy.

One of the things I like the most about the wraiths and immortals is the white leering faceplate. On wraiths, they have bigger heads, so I was able to easily trim down a decal to fit onto it with some decal solution, but these guys, too small.

Ok, I thought these were finished, but I really never did. I forgot to do the combat attachments. By leaving the blades on from the warriors, they looked too much like warriors.

I decided to cut a few test blades out of sheet styrene and then cast them in resin, rather then cut out 10 blades -I figured there was no way they'd all look the same. I considered giving them all random combat attachments, but that seemed to be a little un-necron-y, as a large part of their theme is uniformity. So, they all got the same one, cast from resin.

And here is one where it is attached. Note that I tried to cut off the original blade at a angle, so the blade would have a small upwards jut. I didn't get this as uniform as I wanted to, but was pretty close.

And, here they are really-really finished this time.Wow, when you get them up close, the paint

And that's 1,000 posts. Go me!

Bits of leftover sprue from the green rods. I shape the ends with a dremel tool at medium speed, and then scrape the edges with a knife to remove any extra flash if present. I then wash them with Thraka Green, which does little to actually color the crystals, but it does wonders to make them look integrated with the base, when in fact the bases were already 100% done before the crystals were added.

Very very nice looking, I went through a brief necron phase (no pun intended) and I got some immortal models, they were so frustrating to assemble I just gave up
