I posted SM army at 750 for this special tournament and now I need army for my friend...
Here are the rules:
FOC:
1 HQ
2-6 TROOPS
0-1 ELITE OR 0-1 FAST ATTACK OR 0-1 HEAVY SUPPORT
Special rules:
1. No special characters
2. No models with wound 4+
3. No models with 2+ save
4. No ordnance weapons
5. Max AV 33 (front+side+rear)
6. No vehicles with 3 or more weapons
So, here is the army we playtested:
HQ: 85
Big mek w KFF: 85
ELITES: 75
5xloota: 75
TROOPS: 516
22xboyz (PK & bosspole nob): 172
22xboyz (PK & bosspole nob): 172
22xboyz (PK & bosspole nob): 172
FAST ATTACK: 70
Deffkopta w buzzsaw: 70
TOTAL: 746
Now, we tested it against my SM list and if he went first he took me down quite easy, but had some problems if he went second... Any comments/ideas?
We were thinking of disposing of lootas, since it's just one squad so you rely on luck... But don't know...
EDIT: added changes, dropped warboss and added KFF mek and 6 boyz

Maybe switch the warboss for a KFF Mek. Give more protection for your orks in case of alpha strike. Then add in extra boyz

Its like this tournament was made for Orks... The only downside is that elites limit, but honestly, stopping terminators and crisis suits from ruinning your day is just too much.
The KFF has been said, if you can find points for TL Rokkits on the kopta, I would do that as well, since s7 has a tough time popping armour at times. It shouldn't be a HUGE deal since there is that 33 armour limit, but just in case you need 2 penetrating hits and you only get 1 the regret of not having rokkits will be murder

Buzzkopta is with tl rokkit... It's in 70pts...
Well, actually i think that chimera spam is best list in 750... 60 models and 7 tanks each with hf and that 2 s7 shots:p...

Hmm...
Well, I'd consider this list, but main problem is he has barely 66 boyz (he'll need 6 more)... And tournament is in 14 days... Not to mention he has to paint them (well, just the new ones)
Do you think boyz before toyz (or in this case lootas and koptas) is a must in 750? I found that kopta can do massive damage against most armies, even if he's first or not (but especially if first)... Piledrive in war walkers and similar is quite nice... And lootas, well, we're thinking of getting rid of them for more boyz, but as I mentioned, we don't have boyz
He will get to 70 boyz tops in two weeks...

My main thought is there isn't going to be a whole lotta bells and whistles in 750pts with all those restrictions. 89 orks will win through pure saturation unless there is a flamer heavy army on the field.

I play my SM on this pts with 8 MLs, HB, 2 flamer and avenger....
Last time we played, biggest problem was kopta buzzing in... Rest I flamed away (rhino comes and flames, he kills rhino, rhino explodes killing more orks and then flaming again...

Time for new tournament... Looks like we (and lots of people too) have misread the rule about ELITE, FA and HS choices... We can have only 1, not only 1 of each:p
