So I went into the GW shop to get a Piranah as it is all I need to get to the total points I have allocated for my Tau Empire army.

I walked out with a Skyray instead. . . (oh well I need to bump up my Orkses and SM a bit then . . .)

After some scheming, I felt that it would be rude not to modulize the vehicle as GW had gone out of their way to provide both the SR and HH turrets in the

kit.

Going on from there it follows that I had better provide for Devilfish capability as well. I did a bit of internet searching and bought the bitz for the

burst cannon turret. I bought the devilfish weapons mount and the burst cannon for about £1.50.

After putting together the chassis I hinged the doors and hatches with pins and added magnets to keep them closed (I didn't magnetise the commander's hatch.)
I had previously done this with my Devilfish and am reasonably happy with the mod. The white handles are there to grip, helping to open up. The magnets are
quite strong.

I then started on the HH turret, and wanting the full flexability of a modular 'head I drilled to fit a pin through the Mount, Ion Cannon and the Rail Gun.
It must be possible to magnetise this too, but I didn't have any large magnets and I reckon this should work ok. If it gets worn loose, I may retrofit
magnets.
The Bolt and Bluetac (is that another forum?) works well instead of more magnets. . .

Going on to the Skyray turret, I fitted magnets to the wings and the missiles. This worked really well. They are stable when on and come off easily enough.

Finally I added the disruption pod (XV8 sheild) and the Fleshette Dispencers (the white bits.) I didn't bother magnetising these as I reckon that the points

cost is worth it no matter the role.

The nose turret mod works very well. Each pod is easily interchangeable. Also due to the shape of the cover, it fits snug with the chassis.

The Burst cannon and SMS are unglued and clip in/out easy enough. I don't know how long it will last, there may be some more buying of Bitz necessary at a later stage.

So now I have a fully modular (but as yet unpainted) Tau Vehicle

As Ion Head

As Rail Head

As Sky Ray

As Devil Fish - The drones come from the rest of my army.
The other 'fish is not modular but has opening doors/hatch. The new one will be painted in a similar manner.

So there you have it. C&C welcome. I would especially like to see anyone else's modular vehicles too as well as tips on magnetising/modulizing.
I will add another post on my techniques on magnetising later.

Only the last picture will load, but I am digging the paint scheme at the very least.

So ALL of those are from the same tank? I magnetise, but not on that scale! Well, I guess does get rid needing lots of different tanks in your collection for different jobs

Ja. I don't understand why GW sells the HH and SR at the same price. I would just sell as SR. Save Packaging at least. Same goes for Rhino/Razorback. I presume there are others like this in the other armies too.
