Troops- 14 Wyches with haywire grenades, Hekatrix with plasma launcher, agoniser 220 points
Fast Attack- 4 Beastmasters, 20 Khymerae 296 points
Heavy Support- Talos with chain-flails, additional close combat weapon 125

Army Total: 1001 points

The idea would be to attach the Haemonculi to the Wyche units to give them a pain token, and then rely on Feel no Pain and the 4+ invulnerable save on the Khymerae to make it across the board.

Not trying to be competitive, just fun. It's a silly attempt at making a horde list with 12 point models, using this Kroot counts-as Dark Eldar codex I'm working on:

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

I'm just going to say it's not going to work.

basicly your giving the wyches a 4+ armor save and with only 14(15 w/ haem.) it's not going to be effective past one or two rounds of bolter fire and one large unit of beast master again with just a 4+ and not all that much to make it. The Talos i'm completely ignoring based on the fact that his new stats are very close to the old one and they suck. wyches walking isn't going to work, unless get them through a portal.

Toughness 3 and a 4+ save of any kind isn't going to get you across the battle field when you only have 50 models

asuming a smart Space marine opponent, his 3 or so squads start on foot next to their respective rhinos. they fire bolters at full full range for a turn or two then start hop in transports redeploy and do it again. with no long range anti tank and not enough models to corner him he can keep you out of close combat. And his one dread tarpits one unit for the entire game making the shooting more dangerous to the rest. 14 models with haywire grenades hits about 2 times against a walker in cc getting 2 glances on average.

Thanks, aleis,

As an all-comers list I'm sure it will fail horribly, I wasn't planning on using it as such. Rather, I thought it could be an interesting idea for games against certain builds of Ork or Tyranid armies. I certainly wouldn't take this list against mechanized armies (i.e. tournament armies). About the survivability, Gwar brought up an interesting thing in his recent FAQ. It seems that Beastmaster units don't have the ability to gain a pain token, but the unit can actually benefit from the effects of the pain tokens so long as at least one beastmaster is still alive. So, if I attach a Haemonculi to the beastmaster unit, all of a sudden those Khymerae have 4+ invulnerable saves and Feel no Pain. Does it make up for having toughness 3? Probably not, but it sure does make them a lot more survivable. I was thinking of stringing that unit out in front of the Wyches to give them a cover save. If I can ignore 75% of the wounds that the army takes as it hoofs it across the board, I think there might be a chance.

Yeah agreed footslogging Wyches is not a good idea.

Also why take the Talos over the Cronos which is basically manditory in any Wych list?

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.

Yes my Colour is Black but not for the reasons stated mainly just because it's slimming... http://imperiusdominatus.blogspot.com

First of all... they're all going to die very quickly when fighting anyone with guns.... Your wyches have a 4++ save in close combat only, otherwise, it's 6+. someone only has to kill 4 wyches of your 14 man squad with Haemy to make you run away. It won't be hard to do with T3 models.

You need raiders/venoms to get them into close combat fast and thus provide some sort of barrier between bullets and wyches. They will get FNP, unless someone shoots them with a S6 weapon or ap 1 or 2. Since most weapons are ap5, you won't even get your 1/6 chance to save.

You need transports.
