Thought I would post some of my oldest work. My very first completed army -- Dark Eldar. I painted these about 10 years ago. The ultramarines were done about 6 years ago. For the longest time the only technique I had was drybrushing comments and criticism welcomed

Yeah sure. I started with black primer, drybrushed several times by regal blue, then drybrush again by ultramarines blue, a light drybrush of 2:1 Ultramarines blue and Space Wolves grey and then finally highlighted with ice blue on the edges. The ice blue really made them look great.

Ive sold all of them a few months back except the terminators and landraider

You know, that's probably the best UM army I've seen in a while. They certainly aren't flat and plain, but you also managed to avoid going to the other common extreme - TRON marines. It's amazing what some basic drybrushing and a few hard lines can achieve, with the right technique.

thanks for the comments on the ultramarines. Personally im not a fan in anyway of the ultramarines, I painted them because they were easy and convenient...thats about it.

The Ultra Marines really stand out, and I love the details. How did you do the black around the vents on the tank?

Your DE look quite good for being a first army, but your Ultramarines are very nice as well. You obviously practised a bit on your drybrushing during those years, and it shows. I would easily rate your Land Raider a 7.

cool, thanks alot. Yeah, i started another army back then (which I dont want to post because its apthetic ) but I eventually found out with the limited skills I had that drybrushing worked the best ot get the shading I wanted. Thanks for the comments

The Marines are excellent. Sickeningly, better than I can manage now! Excellent work!
