Hi All,

Got my tomb Stalker yesterday from FW (3 days early ), anyway, was wondering if anyone had any top tips on putting one together. I've done a little work with resin before but nothing this complicated (Tau Tetras).
I'm going to use expoy resin to put it together, after filing it down and washing in warm soapy water that is. Any ideas about the legs? Do they have a set order or are pretty much interchangable? Is it best to build the body then glue the legs on?

All help/advice greatfully recieved. Thanks in advance.

The quality is very good compared to some of the other stuff I've got from FW, just need to heat up one of his antennas and bend it straight, but thats it.

Here he is, just about to take a bath, Nomnomnom!

Nice. I'm dying to get one.

Hey, while you're taking pics anyway, any possibility of a size reference next to a rhino or some other common model?

You should be able to just use superglue for the body parts. You'll likely want to pin the legs and front weapons on using cut up paperclips as pinning wire. Blu-tac may help tremendiously for pre-assembly work and getting things positioned properly, especially with the legs. This thing may be hard to balance.

All my vehicles are up at my gaming club, I'm going up there tomorrow, so I'll bring a rhino or monolith or something back and get a pic.

Although I don't yet have the model, I was planning to drill out each center section and then just put them on stiff but bendy wire, like pearls on a necklace. Seems to me to be maybe the only simple way to get the pose you want without going mad gluing individual segments.

As a side note, this thread made me order mine about 20 minutes ago.

Good stuff.

I'm going to try and build a 'base' using two of the body segments and the tail with six legs. Once this is dry I'll just add a body segment at a time with 90 second Epoxy until the body is done, then add all the legs and guns. I'm hoping the epoxy will be strong enough to avoid the need for pinning.

The pearl string idea is good, you could probably make it reposable with a bit of work.

I'm thinking with all those individual spine pieces, make two half size! The front and back don't look that difficult to shape off of a spine piece... just saying, it will end up smaller, and depending on your local gaming club two might be acceptable.

Looking at it, I'm pretty sure I have four extra legs, as I have 24 but the thing only has twenty actual 'legs'.

I think making a decent head for your 'mini stalker' would be the hard bit, the weapons could be stolen off warriors.

Yea, the head would be the most difficult bit, but maybe a tomb stalker lord?!

Wow that's a nice model! I can't wait to spend money on the Necron stuff when it's released in about another 20 years :-( so in the meantime I must buy one of those! :-) ah! my sanity is back!

I received my model(s) on Monday. It is awesome. 100% poseable. This is a pretty static build in the picture above. Nothing wrong with it but you can have

....the bug crawling over stuff.
....Hugging a space marine to its mouth for a little Nom Nom Nom.
....Diving into the dirt
....Blasing out of the ground
....rearing up
....Prying open some armour.

It has over 100 pieces. LOVE IT. I need 6 of them just to do everything I want.

I kept it fairly conservative for my first one, not built anything quite so complicated before. Also he might live a bit longer with a slighty lower profile, instead of towering over the battlefield
