In this industry sometimes appears a miniature that really is the ultimate example of craftmenship, dedication, talent etc... Nothing of the mehhh 3d cad rubbish but instead a true example of what this hobby is all about...

This year, for me, its The new Heresy Dragon ( it took 2 years of work acording to Heresy)... and its unbelievable.

Wow, just wow. And somehow it manages to fit on such a small base. That is how I have wanted a mini of a dragon to look.

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games.

Look again at base size

That is truly epic! Apparently, he just finished yesterday on the sculpting, and will send it to be cast next week (with some changes probably being needed after the first casting result).

I was one of the early ones to pre-order this beast... in January '09! I ended up swapping what I'd paid into one of his other items (the excellent trenchcoat gangers) a little over a year later.

It certainly is a wonder to behold in this form... hopefully casting goes smoothly, and he's able to start shipping these monsters out. It's great that he's finally done sculpting it!!

Or a mage that can cast polymorph so as to turn him into a squirell. Or a bunny (or a very lucky chromatic orb...)

Awesome sculpt, all the way. The size, the pose... Terrific sculpt, with nice, uh, "anatomic" details, like where the wings meet the back.

I am really tempted to shell out the 50 or so dollars for the preorder, i have a feeling this will be well over the 100 pound mark...

Holy gak!!!!!!!!!! Titanic is exactly that. At first glance I thought it was a GW 40mm or 50mm base. With that mini in the picture I swear that dragon just doubled in size right in front of my eyes!!! I always thought it was big but wow, a sudden sense of perspective.

I had one on pre-order for a while that I paid the balance off last week. After seeing the pics today I decided to order a second. Will be interesting to see peoples reactions to seeing that on a table.

I don't see this as a tabletop figure. This is more of a collectors piece.

Real dragons don't function as beasts of burden for puny humans. They see them as appetizers, at best.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

That is worth well over £100, it will probably cost well over £100. The pre-order deal is a good one, especially as if it ends up costing less you pay less.

I wish I had the spare cash.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

I'm nowhere near skilled enough to do a good job of building it and greenstuffing the gaps so that it looked good and managed to stand up on it's base.

My painting skills are such that it would look pretty terrible when I was done.

Yet I still want to buy it, because that is a beautiful sculpt of a creature so often let down by the models available.

Thats a very nice miniature. But at 100 euros, which is what, 150-200 dollars? I'm not sure I'd get it yet. Not sure what to use it for even RPG wise.

Hope more old fools come to their senses and start giving you their money instead of those Union Jack Blood suckers...

You put it in a case in your basement with the rest of your hobby stuff of course.. So when you have visitors you can say "Hey look at my sweet models" and 99% of the time they'll placate you by saying "Oh thats nice" then forget they ever existed

Awesome model tho just wish I could figure out a purpose for it
