With this project i wanna improve my painting skills. In the past i was always too lazy for a proper painting. But times had changed. Unlike my other 5 40K armies this one will be with 3000 points my smallest.

Assault:
Normal Raptors are nice but they have a balance problem. So i decided to build me my own. After reading Soul Hunter i found the idea funny to mock up our brothers of the BA a bit. The result are the Hunter´s Wings.

All ten jumppacks are done by now.

Night Lords pre-heresy Jetbikes!

Ok, i finished the details and primed the models. I used the new sculpting mass, Magic Sculp. It´s some interresting stuff. It´s like GS a two component sculpting mass. It doesn´t stick like GS, it´s very soft and light. When it is dry it´s really hard and you can form real sharp edges. And you can mix it with GS. I like it.

I must say that this army very impressive. The conversions are very neat. I LOVE the Pre-Heresy Jetbikes and can't wait to see some paint on those bad boys. The jumpacks are a nice echo of the new BA Sanquinary Gaurd with the bat wings. I would be willing to make my way to Germany in order to play such an ace army

Your painting is brilliant and the lightning has been painted on the models very well. I like the Daemon Prince but I can't help but notice that it is the 10th Daemon Prince I have seen with that skin colour (including my own 2, which are Tzeentch DP's). Must be a popular way of painting them.

The basis are CSM bikes. For the engines and the air intake i used DE jetbike. The bikers are DA Ravenwing bikers with chaos bits.

Very nice army I particularly like your Land Raider and Rhino they both stand out and I am sure look even better on the table top. Your Chaos Bikers are also superb looking forward to seeing them painted, well done.

My one and only criticism would be that compared to the amazing freehand lightning you red wings look slightly flat in colour, if you get my drift. Just mars the otherwise amazing effect they have!

At the weekend i´ll go ahead with the jetbikes. what you see actual is only the basic concept. Now i´ll have to work on the details.

@Imperial Monkey: You´re right about the red of the wings. I must see what i can do.....

So today i´ve done a lot. I worked on the details: Air Intake, Backpacks, Trophies, the big black hole at the underside in the rear fender and on the wings. I gave the wings the basic shape of batwings. On monday i will buy some other sculpting mass called Magic Sculp to finish the wings. This stuff will become much harder then GS and it´s better for sculpting details.

WOW! Really impressive army there. I love the Night Lords and yours are really good. Possibly the best I've seen at-least.

I particularly like your troops, raptors, jetbikes and the vindicator. The look great.
Although the Vindicator arrived either late-heresy or post-heresy IIRC, should that bother you...

your tanks turned out fantastic! Also really like alot of the converison work...the jump packs are splended creations. I also like work tot eh dreadnought; though im not particularly impressed with the bikes....everything else is awesome though, very nice work!
