I like the blue and green. The gold is too much

i can understand where you coming from with the gold, this is only the base coat of it.... no shading or inking yet. there will be also more blue and green on them so they wont be mostly gold.

so yeah it is pretty much the head and the eagle wings that are finished so far.

I think you need to tone down the gold a bit with a wash

Then why ask for comments yet? The blue green looks alright, but until its done we can't really comment on it too much.

I like the blue and the green work going on here, really dont think gold is the colour to pick as your primary though however! but as others have stated that may be due to being garish. i would however make use of all the other details rather than picking them out in blue and green as you will need it to have the gold making that impact

i would devlan mud the gold, then edge high light with the gold then take a metal medium silver and edge it just slightly with that.

The green looks fantastic!

I'd do the whole model green.

I think it will look very good painted.

I would imagine, folks, that as he only has three posts here, he was impatient to get his first model up for comment. Cut him some slack!

I would think about doing blue on the leg plates under the arms, and the left arm green to counter the blue on the other side.

cheers for this... i had other things in mind for the gold, but i think i might head down this path, as for other details, the lightning claws will be white with blue claws on both hands, and the plates around the legs will be blue and green as well, with the opposite side to the face the legs and shoulder pads will be green and blue also....will post more pics with progress again.... this is all i have decided on so far.... so if anyone has any other suggestions feel free please.

The blue and green work well together, however there is way too much gold for my liking.

However if this is your 1st painted model then i will say im impressed, takes some skill to get a nicely halved colour scheme.

I personally like the gold. Maybe a tad bit of shading to not make it look like a statue (I know you said you're gonna shade it, just dont go too overboard ). The shinyness of the gold make it look like they are divine angels.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

The gold is good. I think the green is too much though. too bright. Perhaps make the helmet blue and the chest eagle black? Interested to know how you're going to shade the gold!

Very nice shading and highlighting on the green. That is some skill to make the parts of the helmet look distinct, but not too cartoony.

Personally I like the gold, blue and green. My first impression was that this is a unique, strong palette to use. Congrats on doing something different, and doing it well! I think it will tone it down by adding more blue and green to balance out the whole composition, but honestly, if you were do the same thing on the gold as you did the face and chest eagle, I think it would look sweet as is!

And yes, it is a WIP thread. But you know that you do have to post this finished model now, right?!

love the green and blue, but also am not really into the gold. i would just use the blue and green like a howling griffin scheme.

I'm waiting to see a revised photo with more work on the gold color. the green-blue theme looks very nice to me but the gold is a little bit too much. But this is a judge on the first photo. if you work with gold in a more bronge tone I think it will look good.

hmm with the blue it is very reminiscent of the space marine Celestial Lions chapter. Looks nice so far, work on that gold and this model will look real nice.

That all looks awesome, what a nice and original scheme, but I think a wash on the gold with the ol' devlan mud will save the day. I really like this color scheme, it's really cool!

You might want to repaint the honor mark on the leg. Gold paper?

I really like the originality of this guy. Good work. And hay, if you want to use the BA or SW codex, go for it.

Im not a fan of the gold, but thats just me. I always go 'blah' to metallic's.

Could use more Eldar. 8)
