I remember a while back in a thread around here someone pointed out that altho a general's inspiring pressence beneftis from being a large target, a banner bearer's hold you'r ground dosen't since the hold you'r ground rule on page 107 dosen't say it does, but recently i went to read the large target USR for another reason and noticed that it does say banners get boosted to 18".
So this thread is pretty much to admit i was wrong and banner bearers with monsters do get boosted to 18", and if anyone tells you otherwise show him page 72 of the BRB where the large target USR is located.

The section on BSBs doesn't say he's not affected by the boost, in fact it doesnt referece the boost at all. Seem only natural that the Large Target rule takes the presidence.

It's an interesting one too, because while I can think of many situations that involve a large target general, I don't know of any non special character BSBs that could benefit from the boost...

It's a bit daft of a unit, but can't DE masters ride manticores, whilst carrying a flag? I could probably think of some other 'medium level flying monsters' with hero BSB mounts - vamps maybe, or are uber-nightmare things only for vamp lords (who are feeling frisky and a bit drunk perhaps)? - but there's at least one

There are some hero level characters with large target mounts, cant be bothered to check which right now.
