Hello Dakka, I am in need of your help once again!
I am trying to convert my Demon Prince; I have put a dead space marine in HIS left hand (because it was open) and I have tried to make a blood flow from him to the base (last picture) and I have failed badly.
My dad bought me a thick peace of brass, my intentions were to paint that the colour of the Space Marines blood so it would look like he was bleeding out (even though he's dead).
Sorry for the bad paint job on my Demon Prince as he is still in work.
Another thing I was considering was battle damage of some kind, if any one can help me on that, thank you!

Here we go again

OT: water down the paint and have it run down the spear is what I'd do.

I use my girlfriends hair
Its delicate to to use and stick to the model but once its on i then use pva on it to strengthen it and thicken it up. You can mix red into it before you apply the pva or paint it after, your choice. Not sure what other people use though.

Thats a bit mean but must work, I feel sorry for her!
I have actually scrapped this idea, instead of a marine in his hand, I'm putting fire.
This is the thread if you wish: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/326638.page

@ LordTyphus - not sure what your comment is getting at! The method to get the blood drip effect or something else?

@ Feforfar - theres no gain with out pain lol, i saw the other thread with fire and this would probably be easier to get looking good. I look forward to seeing the end result.

Instead of changing it every time you get a new idea, why not let a few of your ideas build up, then think long and hard about which you want to go for.

Or if you like both ideas, why not have the marine on fire in his hand.

Hope so!
Yes, that would be a good idea but I'm thinking about putting a sword in his right hand, its the sword you get with Balrog and I was hoping to put a ball of fire in his left hand!

Blood would never flow diagonally, it would follow gravity vertically, also it would never stay in a single line like that, it does not have the viscosity. It would drip from quite soon after the DP's hand.

The hair suggestion is a great idea... you could also use cotton or fishing line.

To make fake blood, i've heard good things about Tamiya red clear... but if you live in the UK and have one of those £1 stores near by you can usually pick up cheap clear epoxy glue, mix up a batch of this with some red oil paint and a tiny (tiny!) dot of blue and you should get a pretty convicing blood effect. Let it naturaly drip and flow from the source to and down the hair/cotton. and build up in layers till you get the desired look.
