Hello Dakka, I wish to know how to bend the DP's figures around the Balrogs sword to make it look like he's holding it!
I have no idea how to do it so please comments would be appreciated and please no mean comments!

And also how would I bend his whole arm out a bit and tilt the arm in a bit?

if <ou don“t want to use the saw and gs methode, then i recomend to read the whole thread lsited beneath:

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/316122.page

worked for me, but what you are trying to do is on a much more larger scale and more expensive if you fail...

am i right as that you want to have the DP to doublehandly wield the sword?

for better help a quick mock up in ms paint would help us a lot...

good luck, vik>

I actually own the DP and a Balrog including the sword!

Just want to know how I can convert the hand to hold the sword, meaning holding it!

I'm just thinking isn't the Balrog sword a little small for the DP? Or have I got my scales off..

Would probably be easier to grab a sword out of the DP kit and blend green stuff flames into it. Could come up looking pretty snazy.

There are two options

1.) Get an tubular object the same diameter as the sword handle. Microwave some water. Drop the hand in there. After about 10 seconds, take the hand out and bend the fingers around your tube/handle. This method will return inferior results towards option 2, but requires only the skill needed to microwave water.

2.) Cut the fingers off, then carefully slice them at the joints. Pin the fingers they way you want to around the sword hilt. Glue them. Fill the gaps and shape with greenstuff. Will look much better then option 1, but requires greenstuff and at least some minor sculpting skill.

Slice it off at the elbow, twist it a bit, and then glue it. Fill gaps with greenstuff. That's way too wide of a junction to do any other way without screwing up the model, imo.

I'd rather do the 1st option, so is it just dipping the hand in hot water for 10 seconds and than carefully bending it around the object?

And also Im open to any suggestions that people might have for the sword (instead of Balrogs sword), I was thinking about useing a turret of a tank, but im open for suggestions....

Grab a hair dryer and focus that closely to the fingers for about 5 minutes or so and try bending them, however they look very long so they may need trimming.

His fingers look way too spindly and long to look convincing around the Balrog's sword. The LotR miniatures are of a different scale than 40k's (LotR has much more realistically sized minis), and so the Balrog's sword will be too small. My solution is, if possible, to actually replace one of the DP's hands with a sword and add GS flames. I don't know what others would think, but I just think it'll look interesting and cool if pulled off right.

No pity!
No remorse!
No fear!

I am thinking strongly about putting this in his hand (S).

That thing at the front which I forget Whats it called, the thing that would push say dirt out the way!

Easiest thing would be to remove the fingers and then sculpt new ones out of GS. Would be pretty easy...just roll a little sausage for each finger bone, join them at a finger joint, and just build it around the sword handle.

It will be ALOT easier than pinning each joint. Won't win a modeling competition, but it will look just fine on a game table.

Any ideas on how he can hold the blade at the front of the lemon russ and I was hoping to enter him in competitions!

A dozer blade? No offense, but that just seems silly.

A more sensible idea could be to have him wielding the turret of a Russ by the barral, like an improvised mace.

mmm, good idea, just gotta see if theres any spare ones in the box of spare parts.
So when you say the turret do you mean get him to hold it in one hand or 2 hands?

In one hand, have him holding the cannon in his left hand with the turret attached. (looking at his hand, it should be able to fit around a cannon relatively easily.

I'm not sure if I want a object in each hand or a huge weapon in the 2 hands, thats when I ask for your help!

I was actually thinking about making a double bladed axe and attatching it to both hands!

I would go with holding a lascannon by the barrel. Cut the mounting point off jaggedly (the round pivoting part that connects it to the tank) and insert some wires/cables hanging out.
