One use only. Multiples of this rune have no further effect. The unit may take a Break test on a single d6 rather than 2d6.

does "multiples of this rune have no further effect" mean that:

1) Each unit may only have or use one of these.
2) Only one rune may be used per break test.

Every other rune with this rule either gives a permanent but conditional effect (may re-roll scatter die when firing grudgethrower, +1 to armor save, immune to fear and terror) or is a type of effect that can only ever happen once in a game (i.e. bearer may deploy with a unit of scouts as though he had the rule, bearer has a 2+ ward against the first wound suffered and not saved by armor). This is the only one as far as I can see that the player has the option to choose when to expend, and then it can never be used again.

Thoughts?

By the most literal interpretation, I would have to say each unit may only have/use one, with a possible loophole if there's one on the unit, one on the BSB- but even that's not a sure thing.

I was going to ask about the BSB thing.

I'm normally an empire player, but I'm dusting off the dwarfs for a tournament in a couple of weeks. As it turns out, I can't afford the rune anyway, so my ironbreakers will have to do without it.

Remind me why they aren't a2 again?

Thanks!

Boy do I wish I had an answer for that. It doesn't do to compare them to Chaos warriors, that's for sure...
