A few questions arose yesterday while playing the Loot and Pillage scenario.
1- Opponent had 25 Sarus Warriors inside the inn and I cast both Fireball and Piercing Bolts of Burning on them. Obviously both spells are flaming attacks so would they get re-rolls to wound just like models whom having flaming attacks (shooting and CC) whilst fighting inside a building?
2- Used my mortar on said inn as well and both struck hits with 6 models inside. Do models with multiple wounds suffer D3 S6 hits since mortars are resolved as stone throwers? refering to page 127 BRB under template weapons in the example given for cannons.
Thanks for any input!

1- Interesting. As written, only shooting and combat attacks benefit from re-rolls to wound by virtue of flaming. Until I looked up the reference, I would have assumed spells got it too.
2- Templates deal D6 hits to units inside a building. If the center of the template is over the building, then the D6 hits are resolved at the higher strength. So in this case, a direct hit from a mortar would deal D6 strength 6 hits. Each of those hits would deal D3 wounds, but that only matters if the models inside had multiple wounds (i.e. doesn't matter for saurus).

The sarus warriors had a Scar Veteran with them and on turn 6 he was only one left alive as we only resolved it as a 1 wound. Had we resolved it correctly and struck 2-3 wounds, he would have lost the building for victory points and the game would have ended as a draw.
Pretty much kept me up last night for a bit rerunning the scenrio in my head lol.
Edit: mortars struck building with direct hits.

To be clear, that scar vet should have taken D6 hits, all at strength 6, all inflicting D3 wounds if he was the only one left and a mortar scored a direct hit...
