I was just staring at my desk and took a good look at the toy Ravage from the latest Transformers movies...and thought...why hasn't anyone used it to make a thunderwolf mount? Well I am gonna try it and use it to make a HQ for the SW version of my Vanilla SM force. Any suggestions?

I've seen taht thing in person and it's HUGE. Kinda hard to justify a wolf that's almost as large as a Leman Russ or Land Raider.

That's a mighty big mount, but I think it could make a great looking centerpiece for an army. I hope you are able to follow through with this conversion, it would look awesome.

Yeah its the repaint of the movie ravage...what I'm wondering is for a wolf lord what should I for sure chose for the rider's weapons. I was thinking at minimum the storm shield, a 3+ cover and a 3+ invul save is rather awesome to me.

haha Well of course it is. GW hasn't made a real thunder wolf and it may be the biggest one so far, but not really the most ambitous, the one made out of a dread and sentinel was amazing. mine will mostly be a dude sitting on the decepticon ravage and be a "successor" chapter so will barely look like a space wolf. Hell I may just make him a "land-raider" so I won't have to buy one. haha

My first thought is also that this is a terrible idea, and I don't think it will be feasible as a model.
My second thought is that, if you pull this off, it will be amazing. At the very least, it will be funny and you'll get lots of comments at your FLGS.
So, common sense says no, but I say ignore that and go for it! And post pics!
After all, what good is a hobby where grown men build overpriced toys if you can't put them on Transformers?

Very very dark and in dire need of green stuff...which I don't have...but it is the genesis of this crazy thing. Perhaps my next model won't be so oversized....

It wont have the right proportions for a wolf. It has four legs and teeth, but so do dragons and mice.
If you're willing to destroy your toy for fun, go for it. Dont expect it to work out though. 8(

Well a bit of thread'o'mancy update, I tinkered until I was blue in the face and though I like it my tastes changed a tiny bit. I won't be tearing it apart but will making it more of a diorama piece in the future. BUT I did find a smaller Ravage to use that fits perfectly on the dread base.

Can you post a picture of the smaller ravage, so we can see the size?
As for the original toy . . . I mean collectible , yes it's too big for legal play, but it could be an awesome diorama like you planning. I know you said you don't have any GS, but I think you need to get some to push it from an 'Ok' idea to a 'Great' idea. IMO it needs some organics, to balance out the mechanical look.
If I were converting it, I would leave the legs mechanical, but GS the torso to show some of organic detail; mainly fur. I'd GS (or otherwise change the head), add fur (to at least the top of) the neck. The tail . . . idk; I'd have to think about whether I'd leave it or not.

Found one on the net, my camera is dead. The guns on his back pop out leaving a nice clasp that holds the backpack in place since I haven't done any gluing of legs and torso as I'm playing with his pose.

I like the different leg design on the 2nd model, and head looks pretty good too. Overall I think the design will work a lot better for a tabletop model. I'd still suggest adding some fur to the neck, shoulders and torso. It doesn't have to be a lot, but I think it would make the model more closely match the thunderwolf theme. Personally I'd add keep the head mechanical, but do a GS/bits conversation to make it look more like a wolf.
Looking forward to see what you end up doing.
