I'm a new player to WHFB and I picked up some Lizardmen... Just learning up on the rules and hammering out a list before I go out to die in a blaze of glory...

However, seeing some of the lists here, I'm brought to one particular question. The rules state the highest LD character in your army has to be the General, which is the Slann... and then I see people taking the Slann as their BSB too - but the rules for the BSB state that the BSB can't be your General. How does this work? I'm sure I'm missing something, considering how accepted and common knowledge it is, but it doesn't seem consistent from what I've seen so far.

The slann has an exception to the rule in that it is allowed to be both a general and a BSB (hidden somewhere in the lizardmen army book)

The rule is on the bottom of page 93 in the Army Book - it also gives some additional rules about magic banners, namely that if you give your Standard Bearer a magic banner, they can't have any other magical items unless they are a Slann, in which case they can take the normal amount of magic items that they are allowed to in addition to the banner.

So I get to blame page 93 for Slaans being the best not-Teclis wizards in the whole game? Now to deploy my top-secret anti-page-93 weaponry upon the world!
